The black screen etc is probably more related to the capture plugin you're using rather than the xmltv files. Sorry, I really know nothing about how this Graph Recorder plugin works and cant provide support for it. I only support the built in capture plugins.

Thanks sub. Before I go back to my original configuration, do you have any knowledge of the software recorder plugin?

Thanks again.

Can you record?

I can't watch live TV from my firewire (haven't figured out why, I can watch live TV in graph edit. I also get a black screen in GBPVR). I can record though.

When you watch live TV in GBPVR, if both tuners have the same channel lineup, then you will be watching on tuner number 2 (tuner on the bottom of the list with that channel). You would record on tuner number 1 (top of the tuner list with the same channels).

Let me give that a try later. Recording quality is so much better on firewire.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I can post my firewire preview graph if you like - I only watch timeshifted since I transcode it into an mpg file first

Nope. I only know about the built in analog and digital capture plugins.

carpeVideo,

I would be very grateful if I could see your preview graph. I have attached what I am using now. It is fine in GraphEdit and VLC.

Following bigbus01's advice, I almost have it working. (Thanks bigbus01.) I have my firewire as device #1 with just the epg channels that I can receive from it, and my tuner card as device #2 with all epg channels.

Preview is fine but I have some strange stuff happening when I record.

This is what I did:

Selected a recording that would use my firewire connection. Recorded fine.
Selected a recording that would use my tuner connection. Recorded fine.
Selected a recording that would use my firewire connection. Bad recording.
Closed and opened GBPVR.
Selected a recording that would use my firewire connection. Recorded fine.

When I open the bad recording, in VLC, there is the normal window where the picture is all broken up. Another window opens up with the title 'VLC (hardware YUV Directx output) which is black. There is no sound from either.

Any ideas?

Here is my graph. I have it set up in the External Via Graph (A).

bigbus01, I owe you again. Works fine with your graph. What I can't understand is my graph worked fine in GraphRecorder and VLC. When I compared these files with the output from GBPVR in GSpot, they looked identical.

Oh well, all is good now.

carpeVideo, still waiting on your preview graph.
