I have upgraded to 1.4.7 but am still having issues with the HD-PVR and timeshift. Every time I change channels it starts playing the original channel timeshift was started on. In the attached logs I started timeshift on Planet Earth which worked correctly then went up one channel to 'Til Death but it starts back over at the beginning of Planet Earth. It does this on each channel change and then quits out to the menu when it gets to the end of the Planet Earth file. The files for the other channels are being created it just never switches to them.

I have confirmed this is only happening on the HD-PVR. The other tuners both analog and digital appear to be working fine.

To be honest, if its a problem you had with 1.3.11, then I'm not surprised if its the same. I've not tested with the HD-PVR since last year. I did try to setup some tests with the HD-PVR a month or so a go to do some improvements, but I was unable to get the device working at all - I'm not sure what was wrong with it. It was detected but no video seemed to be captured (even in TME).

It is not the same problem that I had with 1.3.11. The previous problems going by your original responce in my previous thread was something different. To others using the HD-PVR how are you using it to get past these problems?

Actually, having read your linked thread, that reminds me of the exact details. I had a go at fixing your specific problem, and that was when I tried to dust of the HDPVR to do a bit of testing, but was unable to get the device working (so wasnt sure if it was correct).

I think most just use this for recording, not live tv.

The previous problems were corrected and the files are created and grow with channel changes. It just that PVRX2 keeps starting over at the beginning of the first/original file instead of playing the new file created by the channel change.

I have the server in the living room and 3 clients so I have no way of making sure this is used for recording only.

sub,
I hope you will have one more try at getting the HD-PVR working correctly with the next release.

As stated in my last post a new file is created on channel change but pvrx2 plays the wrong file. Below is from the original logs. You can see in the pvrx2 log that instead of playing the new live tv file it starts at the beginning of Planet Earth_7_20090830_18001900.ts on every channel change. I did verify that the new file was being created and growing.

The only other problem I have seen is that sometimes the file gets an extension of .mpg instead of .ts

Thanks,
Jeff

I think most just use this for recording, not live tv.

We have two and they are used almost exclusively for Live TV! We don't do much timeshifting with them, however.

We get no HD over the air, so the HD-PVR plus our STB is pretty much the only game in town as far as HD-PVR is concerned (unless there is another product that I'm missing.)

sub,

This problem is still there; I'd post logs but they're the same as what have been posted here (timeshift re-playing the previous channel's buffer on channel change, often .mpg instead of .ts for the filename).

I could probably setup my HD PVR on one of my spare PCs for you to VNC into even if that would help in case you no longer have a unit.

please help.
