My gbpvr.db3 has grown quite big during the years. It's now over 27 GB of data.

Is there a way for a non-sql-knowledged person to make it smaller in size?
I.e. any nifty sql commands you can copy-paste into cmd.exe?

I'd almost guess it's corrupt at that size. You could try the 'vacuum' command in a tool like SQLiteSpy though.

"quite big" !!

you've got something seriously wrong happening there. Mine is 3MB..

you can download SQLite Database Browser and browse the tables to find out which tables are so huge and then run SQL to delete selected data but to be honest 27GB is so large deleting all the rows from the table would take hours/days. BTW: SQLite Database Browser also has a compact database option

I wonder if your EPG has never emptied at all.[actually ignore that comment, it was dumb]
It may be better to start again and setup tuners/channels and import recording-dump.xml via config.exe.

actually, now may be a good time to move over to npvr and import your recordings from gbpvr.!

Ok,

thanks. I'll try that.

Is it possible to export/import the db using SQLiteSpy if that doesn't work? (I've only used the MySQL tools from Sun before)

I would normally say just make a backup first, but you might be struggling to find disk space Big Grin

Nope. Plenty of space left :-)

The compacting did the trick. Now it's down to 9,5 MB (lots of saved recordings for the kids ;-)

Took a look at NPVR during the compacting and realized I have some reading and testing to do before I can have that up and running...

Thanks a lot for the help!

Glad you sorted it out.

you can install npvr without affecting gbpvr so you can play with the new version and get everything working before you make the switch over.
