First time user and just installed v0.92.11.

Upon launching the configuration I receive a Microsoft .Net box proclaiming...

An unhandled exception has occured.... details below

System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.
Parameter name: '0' is not a valid value for 'index'.
at System.Windows.Forms.ComboBox.set_SelectedIndex(Int32 value)
at z.au(Object A_0, EventArgs A_1)
at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad(EventArgs e)

at System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.WndProc(Message& m)

at System.Windows.Forms.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

For the recorded I searched the forum first before this post. I've already tried uninstalling .Net v1.1 and re-installing. I've also installed MDAC v2.6 and since it still wouldn't work I've upgrade to MDAC 2.8. Alas the problem is still here.

I'm running Win2K SP4+ (all critical updates)

Any ideas?

I dont know - you got me there...

Can you post your config.exe.log? It may contains some clues.

Here is the config.exe.log

Edit.. added .txt to filename because forum didn't like file extension. You may consider added .log as a valid file type.

Do you have any DVD player software on your machine? For example, PowerDVD or similar? Its the last thing in the log, so I'm guessing the problem relates to not having one installed. I've never tried it without one.

I guess I really am special then. Smile

Nope no DVD software.. at least not the ones mentioned. This computer is a dedicated machine for record only and not play back.

I suppose I'll throw Power DVD on and see what happens. I'll update with my results. <off to dig through disks>

OK, I'll put a check in so that others do encounter this in future.

In theory, but I'm not going to uninstall my DVD software to check it though.
