Hi

Have recently downloaded the GBPVR software for the first time and have been seriously impressed. A seriously well thought out piece of software with some stunning looking skins.

As expected with new software, I have encountered a minor problem with my installation. (operator error strongly suspected)

Twinhan DVB-Sat card seems to work fine but the Twinhan DVB-T card in an adjacent slot fails to find any channels. Have tried selecting Sandy Heath transmitter - which is correct for Cambridge UK and also tried scanning for all regions.

System is as below

GBPVR Version: 0.93.10b
Skin: Xmedia LE
CPU Type: Pentium4 3Ghz
Memory: 1GB PC333
Motherboard Chipset: Asus P4P800 (Intel 865PE Chipset + ICH5R)
Video Card: Ati Radeon 9600XT 128MB Ram (fanless)
Video Card Driver: Ati Catalyst5.7 with Ati control panel

TV Card #1: PMI Sweetspot PDI Delux RGB/PDI input card
TV Card Driver #1: Sweetspot WDM driver (version 1)
TV Card #2: Twinhan PCI DVB-Sat CI
TV Card Driver #2: Twinhan BDA driver version 1.219
TV Card #3: Twinhan PCI DVB-Ter
TV Card Driver #3: Twinhan BDA driver version 1.219

Also have an Xcard fitted but have not yet tried configuring this or the sweetspot RGB aquisition card.

Attached file shows an error but I am unsure of how to fix it. I'm sure the DVB-T card works as Mediaportal is able to tune it. Would be grateful for any advice.

Another clue might be that when attempting to tune both of the Twinhan cards the little preview window above the rescan button is blank. Presumably some obscure .ax file is errant??? Have not yet changed my quartz.dll file so also have stuttering but will attend to PQ later.

Best Regards

You could try editing confg.xml and setting <BDAScanType>2</BDAScanType>. This has helped some people that have had difficulties scanning.

Sorry log file did not attach previously.

Have read forum and changed BDA tuning reference in config.xml from 1 to 2 but this did not help.

It looks TwinHan has reused the same 'pin medium' type for the DVB-T and DVB-S device, so you're ending up with the system trying to use part of the DVB-T components and part of the DVB-S components.

I think this is a TwinHan BDA driver bug.

Many thanks for you kind reply. I think there is a later version of the BDA driver on their website, maybe that will fix the issue.

Originally it was not possible to have two twinhan cards in 1 box at all. At least there has been some progree with the TH drivers.

Just tried updating drivers to version 1.2.2.0 (i.e. latest on twinhan site). No improvement. I guess I could dump the DVB-T card and get another Twinhan Satellite card instead. Really want to have two cards installed to allow me to watch one channel while recording another. Most of the freeview terrestrial channels are available in the UK via satellite.

Will two Twinhan satellite cards work ok in GBPVR?

Mediaportal seems to handle Twinhan sat + ter cards but there was a lot of work to make that happen. There was much cursing about the TH drivers.
