I'm not sure what step I'm missing

in the sharpdevelop project

the following files are included as resources

WeatherConfigForm.resources and
WeatherConfigForm.resx

and GBPVRPublic.dll is included as a reference

when I use the build icon it builds fine placing a new dll in my plugins folder under gbpvr

and my new code certainly works but as others have noticed you cant call the config for the dll to change the zip code

If you’re desperate for your weather then here’s a quick fix:

In the config.xml file typically located in the “C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr” folder add the following:

 <WeatherPlugin>
  <AreaCode>UKXX0078</AreaCode>
 </WeatherPlugin>

Just make sure this is between the “settings” tags, similar to all the other xml settings.

The “UKXX0078” represents your city.

To get your city code, go to http://www.weather.com/ , search for your city with the “Local Forecast” search. Click your city in the search results and you should end up with the weather and a URL like:

http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/lo...earch_city

And then you have your area code just before the question mark.

Thank You works great!

I'm currently trying / testing GBR and Meedio. I like GBR!

Sorry Folks,

I still have not discovered what the problem is with this plugin.

I would be most grateful if a more experienced C# coder could have a look at the code in sharpdeveop and hopefully realise what step I have missed.

the weatherconfigform is set in its build properties to embedasresource

so I am completely out of ideas

does the following microsoft knowledge entry shed any light on the problem

<a href="http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q318603&" target="_blank">
PRB: Error When You Access .resources File of the Form at Run Time</a>

any help anyone can offer would be a bonus

Is there a way to set how often the information is updated. It seems mine gets info every 4-5 hrs. or so.

The weather plugin will retrieve new weather information from http://www.msnbc.com if its more than a few minutes old. I suspect the information that msnbc has for your area code is old, so there isn't really anything we can do about it in GB-PVR. Sorry.

Is there anyway to select any of the other maps on msnbc besides the default one. Would be nice to rotate them.
