I have installed GBPVR and it works ok. Under XP I have followed the guideline for "Startup GBR automatic", (or something like that).
Anyway, running GBR in that way, as the only shell, creates a problem. Powermanagement stops working. XP forgets to initiate power management schedule and it wont go "hibernate".

So If I start GBR in that way it wont hibernate.
If I start explorer.exe in "GBPVR" shell and then kill explorer.exe, hibernate works (but just once). If I start my computer again after "hibernate" it wont hibernate until I starts and kill explorer.exe again.

So... is it a way around for this little problem.

I don't think, that this is a problem of GB-PVR. Another well known Problem with the explorer.exe ist the lost of mapped Networkdrives.

It means: If u don't load the explorer.exe (instead GB-PVR as shell for example) you haven't access to mapped drives from other PC's.

The Explorer.exe is the key for many functions built-in by Windows. I would use another way:

Let's start GB-PVR normal after booting with the explorer.exe as shell. Use @ Energieproperty from Windows the function "Ruhezustand" (it's the german word, i don't know the english one).

I'll try to describe this: If u shutdown the PC, it will write automatically it's hole Memory-Data on the Harddisk. The next Time you power on the PC, it's already full loaded and completly ready, were you left the system.

It's called hibernate, or hibernation, in english versions of windows.
I'm not always right

Just a long shot, but perhaps the power management plugin could "remind" XP about it? Wink
