Hey all... I installed gbpvr and right now I'm loving it just because of the cool integrated program guide and what not.

However there are a few minor things that are bugging me.

1) When I was just using the Hauppauge WinTV software, all I had to do to start it up to watch TV was hit the TV or power button on the remote and the software would start. Is there a way to do this?

2) FM Tuner doesn't work. No sound. Do I need to configure it somewhere?

Thanks guys.

Yes, you can configure it to do this in the irremote.ini file. The details been discussed several times in the past, so you should be able locate the posts using the forum search feature.

For some people the FM radio will only work on the second attempt. Scanning may not work with the PVR USB2 - its never been tested.

Thanks Sub.

I actually opened up the irremote.ini file and took a look around. Is there someplace I can find the remote key mapping information?

Oh yeah... Is there a way to increase video quality? When I run Wintv2k.exe application, the video quality from TV is much better than gbpvr. On scenes with lots of action, I can actually see scanlines on the video when I watch on gbpvr. Also, there's a weird 1 inch grey strip along the bottom of the video.

The lines that need to be added to start GB-PVR automatically with the remote power button etc have been discussed in the past. I dont remember the exact details off-hand, so you might as well use the 'search' function to save me having to do it for you.

This is most likely just caused by your video decoder. Try a different one. I think WinTV2k uses the Hauppauge NonCSS decoder, and Overlay instead of VMR, so these settings should get you pretty much the same results.

Did you ever get these issues resolved? I have the exact same issues, I just got my WinTV-USB2-PVR today and everything works great except for a couple of basic issues such as being able to launch gbpvr from the power button on the remote and no fm radio at all.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
