I've got a bit of a problem that I can't seem to work out. My computer hangs and requires a reboot when two shows finish recording at the same time. Last night I was recording the following:
Channel 1 Coronation Street (honest, for my wife, not me) 7:30 - 8:30
Channel 2 Criminal Intent 8:30 - 9:30
Channel 3 House 8:30 - 9:30
Channel 3 Boston Legal 9:30 - 10:30

GBPVR was set to use 5 minutes of pre/post padding.

Results of recording were:
- Coronation Street fully finished and comskip processed the recording.
- Criminal Intent finished recording but comskip didn't process the file and when played the "status bar" was not showing the time length of the program.
- House fully finished and comskip processed the recording.
- Boston Legal taped about ten minutes, comskip didn't do the file and when played the "status bar" was not showing the time length of the program.

Anyone got any ideas?
Regards,
Hasso

If your computer actually hangs (ie, locks solid), then this is pretty positive indication that the error is occuring 'ring 0' code aka the drivers - which drivers I'm not sure. It could the Hauppauge ones, or possibly the motherboard chipset drivers.

Yup, it locks solid... needs a reboot. I think I'm using the latest shspvr drivers but will check tonight.

Well, yes, I have set up GBPVR to use the PVR350 TV Out, but at the time of lock up the PC was unattended (i.e. the TV Out was duisplaying the standard GBPVR menu, not Live TV).

Hasso

Having the computer lock solid is pretty common with the PVR350 if the tv out is enabled. Even if its just sitting at the menu its playing black.mpg in the background. It has to do this to get the OSD to appear.

All I can suggest is disabling the tv out on the PVR350.

Sounds like a classic case of your pc going into the fetal position in self loathing having just recorded Coronation St.

Perhaps it hasn't completely locked - its just numb and non-responsive. Try carrying it to the bathroom and running it a nice warm bath?
