Hello,

I guess I bought the wrong TV tuner card. When I bought it I just needed AV in and purchased a WinFast TV 2000 XP (RM edition). I recently learned of this site and the GB software.

Am I correct that I cannot use my current tuner card? If I can't what is the suggested card?

Thanks.
Cool

You might be able to get it going with the software recorder plugin. Otherwise the cards from hauppauge are widely used.
I'm not always right

I have the 'Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe' and run it with a theater 550 and it works with the recorder plugin software.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't understand what you are saying. You have the same TV tuner card as I do, but you run it with a different TV tuner card too?

I tried the above linked to thread, which I didn't realize right off the bat, isn't where the person meant to send me, but instead the plug in is at a wiki listed there. I installed the plug in as stated in the wiki and the install.txt file. But the instructions do not say how to get the plug in working. I opened the config program and went to the plug in tab. There is nothing related there. On the play back tab I have none-software decoder in a drop down box. But, the settings button is grayed out so it's not working, at least according to my interpretation of the instructions.

I don't use that plugin, but from gleaning the forum I gather that the person who developed the software encoding plugin no longer frequents the forae. So the plugin is effectively unsupported.

If you really want to use GB-PVR I'd suggest investing in a tuner card with embedded hardware encoder (I use a Hauppauge PVR-500, there are others).

Easy for me to say, I know. But maybe your current card came with its own PVR application? You can at least fall back on that.

Sorry for not being clear. I have the same card as you and I have been able to get it to work with the GB-PVR. The way I was able to do this was by using the recorder plugin software and lots of config changes. I have a 2nd card that works with the GB-PVR without aid from the recorder plugin. And yes, as mentioned, the recorder plugin software is not currently supported.
