Folks,

I have a problem getting past config. When I attempt to view TV or the guide, I get a message along the lines of "no channels set up, please config and run EPG to import channels, although play DVD works fine. I have an XMLTV file (download from OzTIVO) and it (GBPVR) imports the channels (although the checkboxes are unchecked). When I select "Map digital channels to EPG channels", I get the error depicted in the attached jpg screenshot. Also included in the attachment is a copy of the xml guide and a current config of my box.

The Dvico TV app works fine - tunes all expected channels and signal is >95% for all channels.

Of note is the fact that I was getting a "no microsoft mpeg2 decoder" error which I fixed by reregistering the appropriate .ax file and there are NO! *.grf files on this box. Also MediaPortal will not start - reports BDA driver type error.

Thanks in anticipation,
Bruce

I think with some of the dvico devices you can install either the WDM drivers or the BDA drivers. GB-PVR and MediaPortal will only work with the BDA drivers. Maybe you have WDM drivers installed.

Sub,

Thanks for responding. Drivers for both appear to be installed - see attachment. In BGPVR config there is no reference to WDM - only BDA.

I notice that if I check "Only show devices detected in this machine" it returns none and a dialog with
"No known cards detected in this machine"

My TV card is a Fusion HDTV DVB-t Lite, which isn't specifically listed in the supported cards list but I would have expected it to share common drivers with the rest of the Fusion DVB range and so get picked up in apps like this.

Cheers,

Bruce

It sounds like you'll need to add a new section to the bda.ini file that lists the exact names used by the drivers for your device. These obviously dont match any of the other fusion devices already contained in this file.

You can find the exact names using GraphEdit (google for it). When you click the 'insert filters' menu option, and expand the BDA driver categories, you'll see the names for you device.

Have graphedit, however, can't find any graphs to edit (no *.grf on the box) - or are you suggesting I use graphedit to inspect device properties for inclusion in ini file?

Hi Bruggles.

How did you get the XMLTV.XML file from Oztivo? I get a guide.bin file, which is an MCE foramt. I look forward to your reply.

Andrew,
There are probably other ways but I downloaded file br monster oztivo [91441].zip from the downloads section at xpmediacentre.com.au (you have to join the forum to download but it is a good forum so that is worthwile).

If you run oztivo.exe (extract from zip) it will give a dos window explaining the syntax. I used notepad and built oztivo.bat, containing the following:

oztivo /u:my username /p:mypassword /d:4 /o:xmltv.xml

That will produce a file called xmltv.xml in the current folder.

Cheers,

Bruce

Sub,

I have switched to a WinFast DTV1000T card and have the same problem. Below is a copy of section from bda.ini:

[Leadtek DTV1000 T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=WinFast DTV1000 T BDA DVB-T Tuner/Demod(Thomson DTT7579)
FILTER_CAPTURE=WinFast DTV1000 T BDA Transport Stream Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Following is picture of GraphEdit and Device Manager descriptions of the drivers. They all appear to be syntactically identical.

[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

What haven't I got right yet please? In the BDA Device Configuration dialog, if I select "Only show devices... " it finds nothing.
