DVD Playback Issues

Last night while trying to watch a DVD, came across a few issues which I can't seem to get around by playing with config options. First, I am unable to get the menu of a DVD to function correctly (the menu item select symbol never shows) with anything but the NVIDIA decoders (tried the InterVideo decoders, it shows the menu, but the select symbol is missing, but the DVD plays flawlessly in WinDVD). Second, I paused the DVD, then pressed play to continue and it was like the DVD skipped back about 10 seconds to resume playing, but only the sound started, the video was frozen. It also kept displaying "Paused" in the lower right. I tried to pause and unpause again, even tried using the skip buttons to get it back, no luck. I pressed stop a few times and then after about 20-30 seconds it finally kicked out to the main menu. After going back into the DVD and resumed where it left off, it played for a while, then crashed out with a .net runtime error. To avoid really pissing off the wife, I just played the DVD with WinDVD.

The log files and event log errors are for when the runtime error occured.

The wife is using the TV right now, so I am unable at the moment to test out DVD playback more right now, but hopefully later today.

I'm having a similar problem, but haven't checked my logs to see if they are the exact same. It freezes when resuming from pause or skipping forward (the picture does, the sound plays something from futher back, but only for a couple seconds). I'm not too sure if it is a GB-PVR issue though. I just did a clean install of XP on the machine (in case it was a weird codec issue that can be a pain to fix), with no GBPVR, and it still does it in WMP. I am using Nvidia Purevideo and have tried changing various settings of the decoder. Also it seemed to play fine in PowerDVD7 (standalone player, not just using codec), but I will have to check again. Not all DVD's are affected by this either, some play fine. And the ones that are affected are usually DVD-R's (they are not defective as I have tried them in other players). So it may actually be a WMP issue (if that is what GBPVR uses).

I only had this happen that one time, and I have watched several DVD's since with no issues at all. Could have been just one of those fluke things.
