Hi;
will someone please let me know the proper settings for my WinTV-PVR-USB2?
my system;
amd tb 3000mhz
Nvidia geforce ti 4200
WinTV-PVR-USB2
1 gig ram
multiple hard drives
My setup works with beyond tv, wintv 2000 and sage tv.

I have played with settings and can not get any that work.
The initial setup did not work.( I cant remember what they were)
I do get tv guide and channel list.
I can not get live tv
I dont know about recording settings, cant get there yet.
I do have directories set up.

Please do a step by step walkthrough for noobie.

I have searched posts and wiki with no results( at least that I can understand)
TIA

What exactly happened when you tried?

That implies you're most of the way there. Just make sure the capture source has the card type, country, and tuning type (antenna/cable) set correctly.

Sorry, I dont have time to write a big walkthrough for you. Just follow the one on the wiki, and make sure you set your card type correctly.

When you setup a capture source, click the settings button next to the 'recording source' and set the 'Capture Card Type' - yes, I know your external USB capture device isnt strictly a "card", but you get the idea.

Yes, click the settings button next to that field.

Its on the same 'direct recording plugin' screen where you selected the country as Canada, and the card type as 'Hauppauge PVR USB2'. Its down two settings and one to the right.

Yes, thats ok. Its still an internal tuner, rather than relying on a separate tuner (like VCR or cable box).

What video decoder do you have installed? I'd select something other than 'system default'.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Thats very subjective. Its been discussed a lot in the past, so use the forum search.
