I'm running v96.12 with Hauppage PVR500 and I'm having the following problem:

-Search Guide shows the letters but clicking on them produces no results

-TV Guide was empty until I went into config Capture Sources and clicked 'Empty EPG' then 'Update EPG' (just selecting Update EPG gave me an error message "Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly..."). Now the TV guide reflects entries up until the timeframe when I updated the EPG.

-Scheduled recurring shows state they are pending but they are not recording.

I've been using GBPVR for about a year but don't mess with it much as it has been working pretty good. I think the only plugin I have is ComSkip.

Any ideas?

Reproduce the problem, the zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

FWIW

My GBPVR (96xx) ran fine for a _very_ long time without any intervention.

Suddenly I had EPG update problems (Zap2It USA)

Tried all of the workarounds I could find on this forum -- then for no reason except that I hate MS Windows - I uninstalled the MS WinXP fixes that were done just before the EPG update problem surfaced.

Bingo, no more EPG update problems!!!

Haven't researched beyond that...

Ok, I uninstalled all the windows updates from the month of August. Now I am getting the following error when I try to update the EPG:

"Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly..."

I am attaching new logs.

I am having exactly the same problem as snjustice. ATI TV Wonder Elite. I think it must be a zap2it problem. Berkeley CA 94707. I can watch tv and select channels through "PowerCinema."

In your case, it seems zap2it is now sending some invalid XML, which the Microsoft components I use cant load:
Quote:9/1/2006 9:52:19 AM.269 ERROR [120] Error UpdateEPG()'ing: System.Xml.XmlException: This is an unexpected token. The expected token is 'NAME'. Line 141, position 4.

If you PM me your zap2it usename and password, I'll take a closer look.

I'm getting the same sort of problem. Everything was working fine, then about a month or two ago, the EPG stopped updating automatically. I now have to go in every week and manually get the EPG (which works just fine). I'm wondering whether there's a security level issue - does the application when auto getting the EPG run at the same permissions level as when getting it through the Config app?
