GB-PVR seems to freeze at a random time while I'm watching a recorded show. The only thing I'm able to do is use the Task Manager to force GB-PVR to shut down.

I'm running Version 0.99.5 with ComSkip, BleepBloop, SuDoKu, Weather, TV Listings and Search Guide.

The Computer is a P3 866, 512MB, 40Gig(Progs) & 80 Gig(Shows) HDs, Hauppauge 150 & 150MCE, Hauppauge Remote, GeForce 5200 FX.

TIA

so can you play your recordings all the way through in media player?

Could it be that youe CPU & Vid card isnt quite up to the task? ( I think sub recommends a P3 1 GHZ)

Cheers

nay, it should be enough horsepower for playback (use myself a P3 450 with 512MB RAM as a client with no problems).
how often & when does it happen? playback of currently recorded show? try using another codec (i.e. get GPL MPEG2 codec & try it out), see if it helps, might also give new drivers from nvidia a try

I'm using nVidia PureVideo (I think that's what it's called). It happens during a lot of hour plus long shows that were recorded usually at least 24 hours prior to me trying to watch them. I'd say it happens most often in the later 1/2 hour of the show.
Any help would be greatly appriciated. I was hoping the logs might show something...

i couldnt discover anything related to playback in the logs, maybe sub can Big Grin
i would really give another codec / driver update a chance
try to give some relative numbers (i.e. happens every 2nd recording i watch). reason i asked about watching currently recorded shows or allready completed recordings: while something is being recorded, GBPVR does not use default codec for playback.
as you have a 150 built in, take a look at this thread, might be the same issue

Thank you very much K.S. If nothing else I now know that I've been having that timestamp issue. I will be installing the latest 150 drivers when I get home!

I was getting very skippy vids and got a quality defrager (perfect disk) which even claims back your freespace so that it's contiguous. I've had no problems since then! (I'm evaluating Perfrect disk, does anyone know a freeware/shareware one that's as good but not as expensive?)
