Hi guys,

Up until this weekend I've had no problem logging into the web admin on my parent's GBPVR box. Now it's no go - the page cannot be displayed; tried accessing it from inside and outside the local network.

I made a couple of alterations in the config of that machine this weekend, from what I can remember doing, I changed the video renderer from Intervideo to Cyberlink to test a couple of problems. Would this have effected the web admin side of things? Nothing has changed with the network - the port is still forwarded correctly and the admin service is still enabled in config. The address I'm using for the service is as follows:

http://[IP ADDRESS]:[PORT]/gbpvr/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fgbpvr%2fdefault.aspx

Any ideas for troubleshooting much appreciated.

Cheers,

FK

Sorry folks - it would appear that windows firewall had managed to turn itself back on! That's off now and problem sorted.

It has a way of doing that during certain windows updates - I still haven't figured out which ones are the ones that do that, or how to prevent it from happening. Seems to only be happening on some of my computers, so it should be a configure thingy, but... Highly annoying, though.

go into the firewall and set to to allow the port to be accessed then you can leave the firewall on and it works great.

I don't use Windows Firewall so I don't know what problems this causes. Could you set the firewall service to manual or disabled to prevent it from turning back on?

I think it also gets switched on when you run the wizard for connecting to the internet or establishing a home-network.
