I am getting the following when trying to update EPG for certain channels

DVB EPG skipping unknown channel: xxxxx

I know the channel is valid and should work. It is in the scan list. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Where are you, and what broadcasts are you using? I wasnt aware of any DVB compliant services supply EPG info in either CAlifornia or CAnada.

In Canada. EPG seems to work just fine. Except for this problem.

I've noticed that it will pick it up in scan but not add it to the list. I did manage to go in and add it manually.

What is an example channel that is not getting listings? If you added it manually, are you sure you got the SID, ONID, TSID correct?

Ok, this is from my scan-1.cache
T:12399,V,20000,56~NID:256~ONID:256~TSID:13~P:200~V:5410~A:5411~L:000~PMT:32~E:T~N:>xxx-x

so it is picking it up, but never adds it to my channel list. I made an entry in both tables(channel, source_channel_mapping). If i didn't add it manually then it never shows up.

At first i thought it was a little app i wrote that remaps the channel number to the SID(P:200) in the example above. I did this because that is what the provider does and I get a guide just like my sub. But i redid things all over without running my app and it still does it.

I cant see a valid channel with that name in your database. As it preparse to load the listings, it loads the list of channels from the database and I can see an error trying to load one of the channels, which I can only assume is the one you tried to manually add:
Quote:2007-10-03 13:19:27.140 ERROR [1] Failure in ChannelFactory::loadChannelSummaryForSource(): System.InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid.

That is the only channel I added manually there are others. That show up in my scan file but not in the database.

I have 454 entries in the cache file but for the same source in the database has only 448. I'm not sure that is normal.

Finally got around to looking into this and i think the issue is when adding to the channel table that the statement that adds the channel uses the name field, so when you have a channel with a name of NTV and NTv; they are different channels; one overwrites the other. Hence why only one of the two shows up.
