Hi, first off, I just want to say that GB-PVR has probably one of the best support service out there. Great job guys. Thanks for bringing us this amazing pvr software.

I've been using GB-PVR for 3 weeks now and it's working great(ver. 9.10, when is the new version coming out?) The only problem I have is the Timeshift or the pause mode. Whenever I press the pause button(enters timeshift mode), problems start occuring. Most of the times, liveTV would start stuttering and then freeze everything(computer). This also happens when I change channel after it enters timeshift mode. So basically, the pause/timeshift feature = freeze for me. I'm not sure if it has something to do with my video card(an old integrated video card), but I would like to confirm my assumption. I'm hoping that there is something that could be fix(via software) rather than upgrading my hardware(can't really afford anything right now)

The second inquiry that I have is the record button in my remote(hauppauge new 45 button silver remote). The config in the irremote.ini is:
REC={ctrl}K

but it doesn't work. It would be nice to record any show while watching it(at any point) just by pressing the record button. The only way I can record show/(s) is/are by going back to the tvguide and record it there by using the left hand options or using manual record.

My last inquiry is the aspect ratio during playback or recordings. Is there a way to change it, probably to 4:3 or to something else rather than filling the whole screen in fullscreen mode.

I hope you can help me with my problem and inquiries. Thanks

System:
PIII-750, 256 ram, pvr250 tuner card w/ new remote, integrated video card.

you need to be in timeshifting mode for the record button to work, since the stream is being recorded to disk already, when you press record the live tv buffer file just doesnt get delete and the file is added to the "recordings" (but stays in the live tv buffer), so if youve been watchinga movie in timeshifting mode for 50 minutes and you want to record it, you will keep the original 50 minutes aswell. when you change channels or stop live tv, the recording is stop however.

Hi

How large is the live TV buffer? I understand it starts recording over itself after a period - how long is that?

Also can one adjust its size in the config file?

Thanks

I don't believe there is a size limit for the live TV buffer, other than free HD space. GB-PVR does, however, start a new file whenever you change channels and whenever the current program ends (according to the guide).
P4 3.0 Ghz (hyperthreaded), 1024 MB DDR
XP Pro SP2
20 GB system drive
2x 250 GB data drives, RAID 0
Hauppauge PVR-350
Hauppauge PVR-150MCE
Hauppauge PVR-500

A new file is created for each show listed in your EPG, so a file can be as big as required to hold at least one complete show. If you have no listings, then a new file is created every hour.
