I have installed the latest Hauppauge Drivers (22301) after removing the old ones. I am currently running 0.90.10 of GB-PVR (after uninstalling an older version). I have a Pentium IV 2.8 GHz with 512 Mb RAM and an Hauppauge PVR-350.

During playback of recordings, GB-PVR still freezes very often. It always causes anything that is currently recording to fail. I always have to restart the recording service. It is almost always after pressing the skip or replay buttons that it freezes. I have read some posts that it is related to the OSD. I have tried checking the box "Minimal OSD during playback" in the config utility, but it didn't seem to fix anything. I have also heard that changing slots in the PC could help. I haven't tried that one yet. Has anyone come across a good solution yet?

Thanks,

Have the same problem on the same card.

even on the newest version.

Have worked out so far that it's mostly happens when new background recordings start/stop and the CPU is busy with other things.

I moved GB-PVR to another (slower but) dedicated cpu and now the problem is much more perdictable.

The drivers just arn't reliable. Save yourself the grief - switch to using software decoding.

Yeh, I tried that. The quality is brutal, though. I just chose to use the system default decoder (I don't know which one that is, though). Does anyone know which is the best software decoder to use?
