I managed to get gb-pvr working with MediaMVP and its just what I needed for my bedroom as a pc would have been too loud to use. But when I'm watching TV it works fine for about 5 mins then the MediaMVP crashes and locks up. I check the pc with gb-pvr and seems to be still serving as the hard drive light is still flashing. Anyone had this problem before?

What is the revsion of your MediaMVP player (printed on the sticker on the bottom of it). I think the D3 revision caused many problems and you should get it replaced if this is the case.

Take a look over at SHS's forum SHSpvr.com for more info.

Cheers,

Yep its a D3 but it seems to play mpeg and divx fine on the mediamvp normally when not using gb-pvr. I've only had the mediamvp for 1 day so I will do more testing before I give up and take it back.

When using GB-PVR did you stop all the hauppauge's services after the connection was established, then run GB-PVR? I know this can cause problems if the MediaMVPSvc us running, not sure what happens if two GUI's are contending for the MVP.

Also, Hauppauge are well aware of people having problems with the D3 revision, so there should be no problem with you getting a replacement from the store you bought it in. It wasn't PC World by any chance?

Yep it was pc world and I bet you all they have are D3's I might try Hauppauge for a replacement. As I don't know how long they are going to be £49.99 for.

Well went to pc world to change it and got a later version which seems to be working well so far (been on for 40 mins so far), I'll give it a day or two then see if its stable. I love the fact the UI is so much better than the MediaMVPs default one.
Well done Sub on a great product.
