Pretty simple.

After a reboot my picture comes out as black and white from the SVideo channel on the PVR350.

Removing/Changing/Adding the device back into GBPVR does not change it from black and white.

Run WinTV2000 and it sees the picture in colour on SVideo1, from here on in GBPVR works in colour.

All I can imagine is that WinTV2000 (The Hauppauge software) is setting up the card differently.

Sub I'm happy to do more testing if you want.

pps. Forget about blue screen of death crashing the machine, little fingers do a much better job....

Regards
Chris

Are others having this issue with SVideo and the PVR250/350?

Basically on boot the previously working configuration of SVideo on the PVR350 makes the picture black and white.

Removing and Re-adding the card still gives black and white.

Running the Hauppauge Tv program that ships with the card displays colour correctly. From that point on GBPVR also displays the picture in colour.

Sorry for the slow response. Work is very busy at the moment.

It possible your card is initializing as an NTSC card. You could try forcing the card to PAL by editing the direct.ini file:

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">[SETUP-Main]
ForceStandard=16
Let me know how you get on.

Hello,

I also have Black and white S-Video TV-Out [Image: sad.gif] .
Some people says it comes from S-Video =/= Composite. I use S-Video out of a DVD reader into my TV, it works fine.
So, I think my TV support S-Video input.
But I still have it in black and white. When nothing is displaied by GB-PVR, I get some vertical lines (grey).

I tried with Hauppauge application after reading Chrisw comment, but it still in B/W, even with Hauppauge app.

I also tried &quot;ForceStandard=16&quot; but, same problem [Image: rock.gif]

I can make all necessary test.

PS: My TV is supposed to be able to display NTSC, PAL and SECAM signal. Current setting is &quot;Auto&quot;, I tried with all possibilities, size changed, but still in B/W
Please, excuse my poor English. It is a 3th language for me Smile

Get it working properly with WinTV2000 before trying GB-PVR. Try all the different input options (Composite1/Composite2/Composite3/SVideo1/SVideo2). Some seem to give a color image, some black and white.

Hello,

I get an answer from hauppauge support this morning.
They send me this reg file.

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Hauppauge\hcwPNP\Override]
"VideoFormat"=dword:0000005f

; PNP_OPT_VidForm_PAL_BGHIDK        0x02
; PNP_OPT_VidForm_SECAM_L           0x04
; PNP_OPT_VidForm_PAL_M             0x08
; PNP_OPT_VidForm_PAL_N             0x10
; PNP_OPT_VidForm_NTSC_443          0x20
; PNP_OPT_VidForm_PAL_NCOMBO        0x40
; PNP_OPT_VidForm_NTSC_PAL_SECAM    0x5F  // default format for all non-848 boards
It solved my problem.

Best regards,

Hi there,
I am in the UK and am having the same problem. I have tried the above and no difference. Still whenever I start my system and fire up GB-PVR it comes up in black and white. The only way to fix it it to start wintv2000 and then start GB-PVR.
Is there some more information regarding this registry key.
Or have I just missed something.
I am running a composite rca cable into the rca-s-video adaptor into the pvr-350.
I know it is nothing to do with cables as the wintv app works perfectly.
I have also tried all different inputs from within gbpvr but only one of them actually displays anything at all.

Help please, I am going mad

Try editing direct.ini and setting ForceStandard to 18
