I have been running a custom python script to parse / output an XMLTV file that I load into NPVR for TV listings (common free EPG grabbers often don't have my area and I don't want to pay a yearly fee for one). Everything was working fine until the time change last weekend. Now whenever I try to load my XMLTV listings it acts like everything is okay but if I check the log file it has literally thousands of lines saying:
2014-11-08 21:19:12.059 [ERROR][8] XMLTV EPG Reader - Unknown timezone: MDT
I checked the time zone on the Windows machine itself (in the registry and in the little time program on the start bar) and both say that the machine is in MST. The script I use to output the XMLTV file also accounts for daylight savings time changes and has the correct MST UTC offset (in numbers, not text). Running the validity checker provided by the XMLTV project on my XMLTV file says the only issue is with the channel IDs but that was never an issue in the past so that most likely isn't it. Typical programme entries in my XMLTV file look like:
<programme start="20141110180000 -0700" stop="20141110190000 -0700" channel="XXXXXX">
I have also tried rebooting the machine in question on the off chance that the NPVR setting never got updated after the time change.
Emptying the EPG and then updating it also did not solve the problem.
Attached is part of a log file demonstrating what I mean. It is also worth noting that I only have about 5 channels that I'm using the XMLTV listing for, despite the thousands of error messages in the log file.
Does anyone have any insights on this? I liked having the XMLTV guide as it gave more info about shows and it allowed me to get a variable time span of listings whereas the OTA listings don't always span 24 hours, making it hard to make sure programs scheduled for recording with auto-record feature.
I only installed NVPR yesterday so I am completely new to this. I am using a Tevion 6430 USB dongle type adapter which is recognised by Win 7 Pro as a Realtek. It works fine in Windows Media Center and picks up 127 TV and radio channels. NVPR sees the dongle and scanned OK for channels, picking up 115 and getting the EPG, including ITV, which Media Center doesn't get. Clicking Live TV brings up the error "unable to communicate with recording service". I did a search for the error but the only hit I understood was one about the Hosts file, which didn't make any difference. Where do I go from here? Hopefully the zipped log file is attached.
It's weird but the genre option disappeared :confused: so I tried running GenreLite again but it's giving the stopped working message again . I uninstalled it and reinstalled it from the zip you posted and it's still not working. Any ideas?
In the past when I want to schedule something manually, I make use of the command line 'schedule.exe'.
When I want to make use of a specific tuner at the same time and it was already been scheduled / occupied by something else, I received always a failed error message.
But recently when this situation happens, it accepts the added new schedule with the consequence of a scheduled conflict.
When I schedule with the help of the command line 'schedule.exe' a couple of times making use of exactly the same schedule definition, I see straight into the database multiple times the same record lines in table 'scheduled_recording'. Only the field 'oid' (of course) has a unique different number for each record line.
Has something been changed in the NPVR manual scheduling system recently?
I have searched on this forum and on google with many different keywords trying to find a solution with no luck. I'm hoping it is possible and i just overlooked it. What i am trying to do is launch comskip with different ini and or logo files per channel. I found the .bat that can run comskip with different ini or logo files based on channel ID passed onto postproccessing.bat as %2. But %2 only holds the major channel number not the minor(subchannel) number. I have not found a way to differentiate between two channels such as 48.1 and 48.2. This looks like it would work great for analog and possibly cable because they don't use subchannel numbers. Has anyone done this or does anyone know how this can be done?
I looked at my recordings and everything was missing that is located on my NAS machine. I am assuming they disappeared when I had the box off for some routine maintenance. So I tried restoring from a recent backup that I had made but nothing would import. I got a No Recordings Imported dialog. I scanned the logs and if I had to hazard a guess, I would say that it stopped the import process once it hit a recording that had since been deleted.
Two questions, how do I get three months worth of recordings imported back in and is there a way to stop Next PVR from deleting recordings that are missing automatically. I like that it does it but maybe a prompt confirming it first.
I have been working on getting digital over the air captions. Tried different video decoders. Ffdshow, Lav, and Microsoft decoders. No captions. Arcsoft decoder, no picture. AMD, video would not always start. I am using Main Concept decoder now. Sometimes the captions are fine and sometimes they are scrambled. Recordings about half the time are scrambled. Just checked live TV and 9 of 10 are good. The scrambled show was fine on another TV. I tried different tuners, no difference.
Has anybody had better luck.
