System Plugin EPG update crashes NPVR
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2014-02-23, 09:55 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (3)

Hi Iain
Running NPVR 3.3.1 with all patches and the .net 4 System Plugin - probably downloaded first day released. On Win 8.1 x32.
Very rarely I use the update epg function (after a channel scan) and on more than one occasion, possibly every time I have used it, it completes the scan then crashes NPVR.
Anything spring to mind? or what logs do you require.

HDHomeRun Prime: errors with one NIC, no live tv or recording with two NICs
Posted by: JeffDwork - 2014-02-23, 07:18 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

With my HDHR Primes connected to my home LAN, I have intolerable error rates - hdhomerun_config reports network errors (dropped packets), recorded video freezes, audio freezes, stutters, repeats. This happens at least 2 or 3 times per hour and often more. I've tried everything - new nic, change settings, disable/uninstall firewall - nothing helps. Weird thing is that it worked perfectly from April 2013 through Sept when the truncated recordings made me give up on nPVR. When I reinstalled everything a few weeks back, the errors started.

Now I have two nics. One goes to the home LAN, the other just to the HDHR Primes through a switch. Errors are gone according to hdhomerun_config. With the HDHomeRun QuickTV I get video and audio no problem and the file from "hdhomerun_config save" plays perfectly. When I run NextPVR with either live tv or recording, I get nothing. HDHomeRun Config GUI shows that the tuner has been set to the right channel and nPVR status shows the tuner active, but there's no network traffic. I've tried openDHCP server so the primes have ip addresses and I've tried removing the switch and directly connecting the HDHR Prime to the nic. Still no good.

Help! I really like NextPVR. I've donated to the project and I will again if I can get it to work for me.

Thanks,
Jeff

My configuration:
ASUS m4a87t, Athlon II x2 250, Realtek 8111E (to LAN), Intel EXPI9301CT (to HDHR Primes)
Windows 7 SP1 current updates
NextPVR 3.1.1 R1a
two HDHomeRun Primes
Netgear switches: GS108E, GS108, GS605NA

  HDHR Plus

Is this NPVR compatible?

Since it transcodes to H.264 assuming it would be limited to only being able to show two events at once unlike the current tuners that provide the multicast ability if channels live on the same frequency?

nDroid TE v2.1.1 available - Beta Testers only
Posted by: bgowland - 2014-02-22, 08:48 PM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (8)

I've just uploaded v2.1.1 to Google Play - give it time to appear (possibly a few hours).

I had intended to do it yesterday but my dev tools have gone screwy and it has taken several attempts to export the package for release.

- Fixed issue where port would revert to 0 when "No transcoding" was selected for Live TV
- Fixed issue with incorrect URL encoding used when passing the URL of a Recordings file to a video player app
- Fixed issue with logo images not being shown for channels with illegal filename characters, e.g., ABC2 / ABC4
- Added Settings option to set default Media view
- A few other minor tweaks.

Cheers,
Brian

Popcorn Hour A-100's For Sale Cheap
Posted by: zed - 2014-02-22, 08:47 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

I have two PCH A-100 units that I no longer use and I'd like to sell, cheap. Both come with power supply and remote but no cables. I'm thinking $20 each, shipped to US address via Priority Mail. Both for $30, shipped. Or make me an offer. I'm just cleaning out some stuff and would rather pass them on to someone rather than donating them to Goodwill or somewhere. PM me if interested.

Avertv MTVHDDUWB HD Duet (White Box) ?
Posted by: jsbiff - 2014-02-22, 06:59 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Can anyone confirm for me if Avertv MTVHDDUWB HD Duet (White Box) works well with NextPVR? Also, it says you can use it to record two shows, or watch one and record another.

Can you record 2 shows, and *watch* one of the shows you are recording? It would seem like that should be possible - just setup the tuners to record, then playback the show from the file that one of the shows is being recorded to, yeah?

With my current cable company, I don't think I need ClearQAM, but just in case - is NextPVR able to activate the ClearQAM functionality? I ask because there is a note on the AverMedia website that the ClearQAM functionality apparently does not work with Windows Media Center, but only in AverMediaCenter, and there is also a FAQ on the website that says:

Q: I have installed AVerMedia Center and received a message "Can't Find AVerMedia TV Tuner Cards", why is that?

A: AVerMedia Center from our website does not work with AVerTVHD Duet White Box. It will only work with AVerTVHD Duet Retail. The White Box Version is for Windows Media Center. It will also work with SageTV, BeyondTV or Cyberlink PowerCinema.

All of that suggests to me that the White Box version of that prouct might be a stripped down version that lacks ClearQAM support?

  weird recording issue
Posted by: saitoh183 - 2014-02-22, 02:23 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

When i try to record this show as a recurring show(Any time or This Time Slot),i get the following:

The recording still appears in the list as recurring but is still not highlighted in the TVGuide.

I dont think it will record since it doesnt update the Timer list in XBMC like all my other recording s have done. It also the same thing when i do it from NPVR directly. I still havent tried from x-newa. Setting a recording to "Once" works fine.

StreamerPost.cs change to enable automatic compression/decompression (gzip) support

Additions in bold/red.

It's enabled by default and it can be turned off by using "streamerPost.EnableCompression = false;" after creating a new StreamerPost() instance.

Graphics card for new HTPC running NPVR
Posted by: gatorgrabber - 2014-02-21, 04:41 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (13)

New guy here. It's amazing the number of new forums I've joined since I set out to build my new HTPC! Big Grin I've run into the "DirectX runtime not available on this machine" issue, which is how I found this forum in the first place. I've been through several lengthy threads on the issue, downloading all of the various patches and updates to no avail. I'm running an older GeForce 8500 GT card, mostly for the HDMI output (my ASUS P5N VM WS board only has DVI output). Even with a fresh install of Win7 Ultimate w updates, I still get the DirectX message when I go to 'settings'. Since GeForce cards can sometimes be 'touchy', what alternative card I can just replace this with? I've read the system requirements (which my current card fits) so I was hoping for a little advice on what actually works. I have 3 flavors of PCIe slots and require a full height card with HDMI output. This should be simple, I just don't want to waste another day fiddling with another problem child.

Thanks all!

  I am at a loss
Posted by: Wilbour - 2014-02-21, 01:23 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

i have had numerous problems with errors in the past so I decided to start fresh. I removed all traces of the program and started fresh. Now I have all sorts of capture errors and cashes. I honestly don't know where to begin.

previously I had NPVR working fairly well with some sleep/hibernate issues but now I cannot even get things set up

Any advise?
