Problem with Channel Change on Live TV with Colossus
Posted by: SilverTiger - 2014-02-05, 05:32 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

NextPVR 3.1.1, Windows 8.1, Hauppauge Colossus, Verizon FIOS STB connected via Comp Video and Optical audio.

I have an issue changing channels on live TV. If I use the guide or the new up/down arrow thing, it takes FOREVER to do anything. It does finally change, but it may take 60 seconds. I use haupblast.exe for all channels. I don't remember noticing this issue in the older version (2. something). I tried this with Hauppauge "WinTV7", and there is no such delay, so it appears the Hauppauge software is working OK. My understanding is that haupblast just hands the stuff off to the Hauppauge software, but something appears to be amiss.

Any help appreciated.

Anyone got a Hauppauge PVR-250 working correctly?
Posted by: W3bbo - 2014-02-05, 09:43 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

I have recently moved from BTV where I had a Hauppauge PVR-250 (single tuner) and PVR-500 (dual tuner). My initial aim was to replace the PVR-500 with a DVB-T tuner (Hauppauge WinTV Duet USB) and keep the PVR-250 with USBUIRT for recording from my Virgin Media box.

Despite multiple attempts I was unable to get the PVR-250 to function within NextPVR. Configuration was (from clean OS install):

Windows 7
PVR-250 Drivers (lastest version driver only install from Hauppauge website)
WINTV Duet Drivers (lastest version driver only install from Hauppauge website)
Hauppauge WinTV 7 (for SoftPVR)
NextPVR with latest patches

NextPVR sees the PVR-250 and allows me to configure it correctly and add channels from my XMLTV feed (all mapped to the composite input).

However, when trying to view Live TV or make a recording, the nRecord.exe service immediately terminates. The WinTV application works fine with the PVR-250.

After failing to resolve I performed another clean OS build with the same results.

To get things going I eventually replaced the PVR-250 with the PVR-500 using a single tuner and all works perfectly.

Interest is more academic now as I do have a working system (and unfortunately no longer have the log files) but would be interested to know if anyone else managed to get this card working under 3.1.1?

HDHomeRun Prime setup - Channel Merge
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2014-02-05, 12:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Just setup HDHomeRun Prime, worked with Comcast to get the channels setup. I have a couple questions about integrating with NPVR

Appears SchedulesDirect/XMLTV creates the channel names with the number and call sign. The prime only includes the call sign (see attached screen shot).

  1. Is there a way to bulk map the Prime channels to XMLTV EPG source? (remember mis-match above).
  2. I don't believe I can bulk-merge to combine the channels due to mis-match channel name, I'll need to do each one separately?

Increase recorded audio volume in 3.1.1?
Posted by: txinga - 2014-02-04, 11:52 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hey there, can the volume level be increased for recordings in NPVR?

I have 3.1.1 running using a Silicon Dust HD HomerunPrime as the tuner. The recorded volume is much lower than recordings in WMC. Hoping I can tweak some setting to increase the level in NPVR. The sound level in live TV also seems low even though I have Windows volume all the way up. This is compared to watching TV via WMC.

Thanks,

txinga

XMLTVXTRAS Crashing After NextPVR Upgrade to 3.1.1
Posted by: SilverTiger - 2014-02-04, 08:50 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (1)

Upgraded NPVR to 3.1.1. XMLTVXtras is crashing with

Error connecting to database: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Progra
m Files (x86)\NPVR\System.Data.SQLite.dll' or one of its dependencies. This asse
mbly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be

Exiting.

I know that 3.1.1 is using .NET 4.

Any ideas?

How can I pick the s video or composite?
Posted by: RaymondDay - 2014-02-04, 03:49 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Running this on Windows 8.1 with a i3. I don't get any video with the live TV. But I can play the .ts with Windows media in it's /Temp folder.

Looked and I can not see how I can pick the s video or composite in put. I wanted to have my old Game cub show on my PC.

How can I pick the inputs for it?

Prevent duplicate recordings based on EPG description
Posted by: W3bbo - 2014-02-03, 11:02 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

In the UK many channels repeat the same programme several times throughout the day.

It would be useful to have the option (on a recording by recording basis to allow for shows that have different episodes with the same description) to prevent duplicate recordings by having the option to verify the EPG description against already recorded / scheduled recordings to ensure that only one was recorded.

  Locked Database when scheduling recordings
Posted by: W3bbo - 2014-02-03, 10:38 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (24)

After over 8 years with Beyond TV I have finally made the move to NextPVR to allow support for DVB-T tuners - loving it so far, much easier to configure!

I have one serious issue where if I attempt to schedule a recurring recording from a client whilst other recordings are in progress I get the following SQL error which requires a restart of the recording service to unlock:

The server PC is a clean build of Windows 7 and I have applied the latest patch pack to NextPVR 3.1.1 (both client and server)

Scheduling the same recording when nothing else is being recorded or directly on the server works as expected. Also scheduling a quick recording on the client under the same conditions works fine.

Client and server are connected on a 100Mbps wired LAN.

I have attached the log files from both client and server in a zip file.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as this is that last problem holding back family approval of the change!

  NextPVR not calling IRBlast
Posted by: reward72 - 2014-02-03, 09:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Hi!
I've been using Windows Media Center on Windows 7 for years but with my old hardware dying on me I've decided to try something new.

This is a brand new build, my first on Windows 8.1 and my first attempt at using NextPVR. I'm using all new hardware except for two trusty Hauppauge HD PVR and a MCE IR Blaster with two ports so I can control both devices individually. I've been able to set everything up, including the channel line up and EPG updates. NextPVR sees my two HD PVR just fine. I can watch "LiveTV" (I get video and sound) but I just can't change the channels.

Since I have two devices it's my understanding that I can't use the built-in IR blaster because there is no way to specify which of the two you want to operate. So... I've installed the IR Server Suite (IRSS) from the MediaPortal team and set it up to use the dual-port Microsoft MCE IR Blaster.

I've followed the instructions there: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...light=IRSS

Everything seems to work fine within IRSS. If I open a command prompt window and run IRBlast.exe from the command line I can change the channels just fine on both devices using the additional port parameter. I see the channel change in the "LiveTV" window. But even thought I specify the exact same syntax within the NextPVR devices settings (just like in the URL above), it just doesn't work. The LEDs don't flash, it's like nothing is happening at all.

Any idea what the issue could be?
Thanks
