  Windows Defender false positive
Posted by: 1deep - 2024-03-08, 11:43 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

Sorry to ask here since I doubt this is a NextPVR issue but I get false positives on windows defender for channel logos in certain groups. Just wanted to know if it's specific to my service or it's widespread and others have experienced it.

  Login changing on its own
Posted by: SamM - 2024-03-08, 07:53 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (4)

I never changed the login from default. But for the past 3 months or so, every time I log in, it doesn't work the first time or the first few times I try it. I discovered that the login credentials are somehow changing without any prompt to do so. Sometimes it requires to check "remember me" and sometimes not. Sometimes it requires user name and password, and sometimes it requires blank. I finally get logged in, but it takes awhile and is a very annoying condition. It seems to randomly require a certain combination of credentials, and so far I get logged in only after I've found the particular combination by trial and error. Any one of these might get me in:
User Name: admin  Password: password  Remember Me: unchecked
User Name: admin  Password: password  Remember Me: checked
User Name:            Password:                Remember Me: checked
User Name:            Password:                Remember Me: unchecked
One of these combinations will get me in, but only by trial and error.

I've tried restarting the service and rebooting, but the problem is persistent. Is this a known issue?
Logs attached.

  Probably for sub to answer
Posted by: jrockow - 2024-03-08, 07:10 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

Is it possible to set up 2 recurring recordings, both for the same show (Jeopardy), on different channels and at different times?
I can set up 1 recurring recording, and a second "record once" for the same show, but not 2 recurring recordings.

I am trying to establish a backup senario in case the first recording gets messed up.
I didn't know if there was some naming convention that might allow this?

New set-top box with no component ports
Posted by: MPG - 2024-03-07, 02:47 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

I'm in the process of setting up NextPVR on a new PC.  I'm using a Hauppauge HD PVR 2 to record.  Until recently I was able to record using component video coming out of the set-top box and into the HD PVR for 1080i output.  Just trying to work out a few details in NextPVR.

So in the midst of this, my TV provider Verizon FIOS reached out to us to schedule an "upgrade" of our service.  They came a couple of days ago and they replaced our set-top boxes.  They took the old boxes away and left us with new boxes that only have HDMI and composite video out.  No component.

The only input that I can use on the HD PVR is component because of DRM/HDCP restrictions on HDMI , and now there seems to be no way to get a component signal out of the set-top box.

Any thought on how to deal with this?  Help is much appreciated!

Several Failed Recordings, Failed to lock signal
Posted by: sirlou - 2024-03-06, 08:44 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (24)

This sort of thing happens to me on a somewhat regular basis, random enuf to be upsetting as I worry I can't rely on recordings happening.

Several failed recordings over a few days:  [Failed: No errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal.]

Logs attached.

I just switched Silicon Dust tuners recently, but I'm on the latest software and firmware for them. My antenna strength was good as I was watching some of these shows at the time recording was not happening.

Help or advice appreciated.

  Recording Directory
Posted by: scaesare - 2024-03-05, 06:46 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (17)

Some time ago I had changed my "recordings directory" to a share on my file server (\\file01\pvr). I've been recording stuff regularly since, no problem.

In migrating my network storage to a new device, I noticed the shared directory does NOT contain any recent recordings. Odd. As I had already copied the storage over and pointed the Recordings Directory at the new location (\\nas01\media\pvr), I tried recording a channel again, and nothing showed up in the new location either, despite being able to play back what I just recorded. Even more odd.

Looking in config.xml, I have no other recording directories defined:

<RecordingDirectory> \\nas01\media\pvr</RecordingDirectory>
<ExtraRecordingDirectories/>

Doing program title file search on the NextPVR server itself only finds the art .jpeg files, and xml file that describes them... no video file.

So, the recorded video doesn't seem to be on the local server, nor on the file-share defined as the recording directory... where are they going and how do I find them??

  RFC DVB tuning files
Posted by: mvallevand - 2024-03-04, 01:22 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Now that we know more about creating the Linux conf files I think NextPVR should move to using the current Windows & SAT>IP  INI files for DVB devices on Linux and Docker.  It seems a shame to add the OpenTV guide and have bad source files.  In the past week there were two posts with problems with incomplete conf and ini file for DVB-S and it would be nice to have one way to manage this.

In addition to being able to use KingOfSat ini files I have written a parser for Lyngsat and FlySat to remove the cruft.  They generate ini and conf files but it seems to be redundant.
