  dvb-t tv guide in nz
Posted by: skippy_nz - 2013-10-03, 07:32 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

Hi all,

Its been a while since I've been on the forums as there just aren't enough hours in the day and everything has been running so smoothly..

I have just moved from DVB-S to DVB-T and i cant for the life of me get my TV Guide working correctly - I have a vague memory that the tv guide over dvb-t shows only 2 hours - which is basically what i have - tv show currently airing + the next show expect for tv 3 which is also showing project runway, but not 100% sure on that. I was just checking my TV and freeview has at least a week of tv guide so thought i would come on here and check with you guys.

does anyone have any ideas?

cheers

  NPVR not loading via PCH-110
Posted by: dongna - 2013-10-03, 02:11 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (16)

I have a previously working setup... NPVR version 2.6.2 with PCH-110. I had some router/DSL issues that caused me to have to reset some of those settings. After getting my DSL service back up and running through the router, I find I can no longer start NPVR through the PCH. What happens is I get to the Start screen (with the 4 icons), scroll over to the right-most icon, then press Enter. I then get a selector box with N-PVR.html which I select and press Enter. I then get a white dialog where I highlight N-PVR and press Enter. Normally this will get me to the NPVR menu. But now I'm getting a white screen that says

mkdir: cannot create director

I haven't had to touch the configuration in several years... not sure where to look first. Can anyone please provide some direction?

  Channel numbers / updating channels
Posted by: boringgit - 2013-10-02, 08:45 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

For the third time I have had to re-install the PC which I use to host NPVR. (Through no fault of NPVR - I wanted to do different things with the box).

This time and the last time, I spent a good while after tuning, mapping all of the channels to their correct UK Freeview numbers.

Thing is - I dont remember doing that the first time - I suspect it may have done it automatically? Is it even capable of that?

If yes or no, from time to time my TV tells me it has foudn new channels and I should rescan - how would I do that on NPVR without upsetting the numbers?

Many Thanks in advance!!

  Same output, multiple locations?
Posted by: spinnaker - 2013-10-02, 03:35 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Not sure if this belongs in hardware or software or what. Anyway, I am looking to buy a new home. In my current home, I have an office on the second floor. I ran an hdmi cable to the first floor pvr and livingroom TV. That way I can move between rooms and watch the same content.

I want the same capibility in my new house but I could have 10 meters or so between TVs. Is there a device that would alllow me to send hdmi ota? Maybe wifi or something?

  NextPVR has stopped working
Posted by: spinnaker - 2013-10-02, 12:04 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I was in the list of channels, I deleted a channel and got an Unhandled Exception and then a crash out of the application. Now when I try to start NextPVR, I get the error NextPVR has stopped working.

I have tried reinstalling NextPVR but no help.

I am attaching the log file but I am guessing it is of little help because the date has not updated since the last time Next PVR ran successfully.

The log file complains about DirectX which I tried reinstalling.

I see no other file with a more recent date.

I have the lastest version of NextPVR, just installed it a couple of days ago.

  Unhandled Exception When Scrolling EPG
Posted by: z06racer66 - 2013-10-01, 11:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Does anyone else experience an unhandled exception when attempting to scroll the EPG beyond the end? Scrolling by page (next day) works fine, it'll continue to scroll beyond. However, if you scroll to the next program and you end up trying to go beyond the last program, it'll display the unhandled exception.

  First time setup Q's
Posted by: TroyDe - 2013-10-01, 03:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

I'm trying to get this set up for the first time. I'm using the Hauppauge 950q, Windows 8,with basic cable. The channels were found but I think it is just decoders that I'm having trouble with.
When I search I find people having problems with audio but I'm not getting anything. When I click live tv I get the massage "Unable to communicate with recording services".
I'm following the Life-hacker guide for XBMC. http://lifehacker.com/5981757/how-to-wat...dia-center

Thank you!

  X-NEWA "Chameleon"
Posted by: mvallevand - 2013-10-01, 02:49 AM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (8)

Sub has done a lot of great work creating an easy to use API interface "touch" to NextPVR for his next version which opens up the NextPVR UI to most modern devices not just to Windows PCs which I thought I'd demo

Although many people like XBMC's look and feel, some prefer NextPVR's look and intuitive attention to almost all the features a PVR user needs and with no seemingly no stop to his creativity, XBMC continues to be a bit limited Chameleon gives you both UI's, and you don't lose access to sub's XBMC PVR either. Here's some samples of my take on some common functions in XBMC as a python addon. In the LiveTV sample you can see how it changes from XBMC's UI to NextPVR.

Playback Recording https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-vtNE9qILU
EPG Record https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUcCrh7bpcY (analog digital hdpvr) live tv jump by # at end
Live TV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hklpC4-A8Ns
Library https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-3DuO4d6tk

Those were from a networked client machine to a fairly old/slow server, but here's a sample showing access via the Internet to another user's machine. http://youtu.be/QGr_50nYimc Transcoded playback is possible too

I'll try and create a few samples to share from an RPi, and a few arm devices including XBMC for Android over the next week

Is vidimport a NextPVR app or a 3rd party app

Have this thread here

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...-all-files

Sorry new around here. Just want to make sure if I posted it in the right place. It is OK for mods to move it if they see fit.

And yes I know the forum is staffed by hardworking volunteers, so not pushing for an answer. But getting one would be really nice. Smile
