Hi I'm new to NextPVR. So far I like what I see. But...
I'm not getting audio from 3 channels.
First my setup.
New pc - Gigabyte H67A-UD3H-B3 motherboard. Intel i3 2100T cpu. 4G Ram.
Older tuners - Fusion HDTV DVB-t Plus and VisionPlus DTV
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
NextPVR version 2.1.5
Connected to an LCD TV via HDMI.
Everything went smoothly with little or no problem. Windows Update ran ok. The first drivers I tried for my tuner cards installed alright. NextPVR installed alright. I was able to, right away, watch some of the channels.
But I noticed that those 3 channels had no audio. Messing around with the Decoders settings had no affect. Installed k-lite codec pack didn't work either. I tried recording a channel with no audio but it failed to record. Recording other channels worked. I ran the tv program that comes with the Fusion drivers and that also has no audio on those channels. I disables one and then the other tuner card but the behavior was the same with both tuners.
So it seems to me that I'm not receiving the audio.
After viewing different threads I'm still unsure to the right way to install and use NextPVR on Windows 7 64 bit do to the lovely feature call UAC and this give me some problems with recording service (Symptom = a grey error box will popup in NextPVR).
1. Updating tvguide. To solve this i currently use a schedule task with admin rights running this batch file
2. Stopping NEWA live tv stream before the show ends stops recording service.
So the question is when using NextPVR on Windows 7 64 bit should UAC be off or can NextPVR be install so recording service doesn't need admin rights in day to day use?
So I got myself an M34A. Got it working fine with NPVR using component inputs and 1080 on the LCD. But I want to use it on an old CRT which has component 576i. Whenever I try this setting (or 480i) the EGreat starts fine and I get the EGreat menus as per normal (for both LCD and CRT TVs). However, when I choose N-PVR.html to start up NPVR. I get a few flickers of the screen, and then just a black screen... no NPVR menu. Any pointers for investigation, anyone?
there is always more work to be done, but blimey steeb will rest in peace (or is that in a piece) knowing that this is really good work. You know who you are that helped make it happen!
Just a quick post to let you guys know there is now a nextpvr.com website, thanks to lots of hard work put in by Steeb, McBainUK, Hairy and Elite. This should provide a better first impression for new users. They've done a great job, and it is worlds better than anything I might have knocked up myself. Thanks also to the users that provided feedback on the website while it was being developed.
For those that are curious - nextpvr.com and gbpvr.com will both be usable in the future, and will share the same forum and wiki.
I have two USB tuners installed, a WinTV HVR-950 and a Pinnacle PCTV 800e. In NPVR 2.1.5 only the device that is inserted first works. I get a 'device failed to start' when attempting a scan on the other.
Logs are attached. In NPVR.log.3 an error appears on attempting a scan on the 800e at 2011-07-27 19:08:39.953. The successful scan that follows that was performed with the HVR-950 removed. I'm running NPVR 2.1.5 R1 on XP SP3.
I had a similar problem in GB-PVR but was able to get both tuners to work by setting BDAAutoDetectTuner=false. Is there anything I can do to get both to work in NPVR?
ok, I have literally been up all night trying to rename a recording file using NScriptHelper. no matter what I do, the recording I try to rename just disappears from the database. I've set <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> to false in config.xml, and they still disappear. I'm running out of recordings to try this with.
all I'm trying to do is insert the subtitle (episode name) into the file name... this shouldn't be hard.
the file rename itself works just fine, but once I run the nscripthelper command the recording is gone. i've tried without double-quotes as well, but I'm pretty sure they're needed.
I have a Hauppauge Colossus installed. I have it configured in both of the supplied Arcsoft and WinTV programs to use the Toslink. Capturing using either program provides AC3 5.1 on channels transmitting it. I only get 2 channel ACC via NPVR. It is not a codec settings issue. It is recording in 2 channel ACC. I assume I'm doing something dumb but for the life of me cannot identify the issue. Does anybody know how to set this thing up to record off SPDIF in NPVR? I just don't see anything on any forum anywhere giving clues to what I'm doing wrong. Does anybody have this thing working in NPVR? If so, could you share what you did? Thanks.
I'm using the hdpvr and my cable company decided to move all the HD channels to 1000+. I can change to these channels with the tvguide so the channel changer works. However when trying to change during livetv I can't enter a 4th digit for channel changes. I haven't tested recordings yet but I'm guessing that would be fine since the tvguide isn't affected. Obviously not a big issue and I'm not sure if anyone is effected by it, hopefully theres a file tweak I could change or something.
If I am on the OSD EPG, when I hit enter on any show on the current channel, I get back the popup for the first channel in the table. After moving channels and going to back to the active channel things are ok.
