  MCE remote and Hauppauge software
Posted by: Snooze - 2011-04-05, 02:13 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

My Hauppauge IR receiver wire has a wire break. I have a MCE remote and USB dongle to fall back on.

One thing I never seen and wonder if its out there... can a MCE remote use the irremote.ini somehow? Maybe 3rd party software?

I was checking out eventghost and it looked cumbersome after being so accustom to easily modifying the irremote.ini for different applications.

thanko was the first company to think of this idea of an am/fm/sw usb radio but their stock software leaves much to be desired. i think this would be a great little add on. just wish i had the programming skills to pull it off.

  WebRadio support for radiofeeds.co.uk
Posted by: mvallevand - 2011-04-05, 03:37 AM - Forum: UbuStream, Web Radio and Universe - Replies (4)

I wrote a scraper for http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/ since I find it an excellent source of 100's of radio streams from the UK and I thought rather then building integrated support, I'd just post the lists from time to time.

To enable it add this to your UserMenu.xml file and copy the attached to your DataDirectory\Plugins\WebRadio folder

Code:
<StationList> <Type>RadioMenu</Type> <Title>UK Radio Feeds</Title> <Description>Lists from radiofeeds.co.uk</Description> <Icon>UK.PNG</Icon> <MenuFile>radiofeeds.csv</MenuFile> </StationList>

additional sorting order in video library
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2011-04-05, 01:22 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

There's one thing in sorting movies/folders, which i don't like. I know, this is a typical windows behaviour, but perhaps you can do something against this.

Collecting / backing up videos is a nice hobby. And npvr is a great platform as "mediathek". Single movies are no problems. Trilogies or Quadrologies will put in subfolders (otherwise the normal directory would be grow too fast too big for comfortable steering in npvr).

I have a folder for movies. Most of them are "one part", also just in the root of a subfolder. But some of them are put in a subfolder (mostly boxsets of dvds, or as mentioned above: trilogies, quadrologies and so on). Let's start with an example:

[..]
[Alien Quadrilogy]
[Freddy Cruger Collection]
[Terminator Trilogy]
...
American Werewolf.mkv
sub is the best (now in high definition without drm!).mkv
Zickezacke-HoiHoiHoi.mkv

Ok, typical for windows: the folders at the beginning, the files after this. But this is really annoying if you have 100+ files in a folder. A better solution were the display like this:

[..]
[Alien Quadrilogy]
American Werewolf.mkv
[Freddy Cruger Collection]
sub is the best (now in high definition without drm!).mkv
[Terminator Trilogy]
Zickezacke-HoiHoiHoi.mkv
...

Is it possible to realize this sorting order without much effort or risking to break something in the npvr structure?

Thank you for reading this. Wink

Known streamingproblems in nPVR 2.03 and VLC 1.1.7/8 ?
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2011-04-05, 12:26 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

Hi UJB!

I have a question. It's not sure if the following problem ist a problem of nPVR, EWA or VLC (or in general something else), but it started to happen after upgrading nPVR and VLC.

If i select live tv, starts the streaming (after configuring/updating the settings) i launch the vlc player.

The next minutes all is fine, video will be streamed and i can watch/listen to the stream. But then, suddenly the stream interrupts. VLC is stopping the playback of the stream and it is not possible to resume this session (it's feeling like that your internetconnection is down while getting a new ip). The only way to resume watching is, that i close vlc, stop streaming and close the stream window opened by ewa. I have to start from the beginning (select channel, configure, update, launch vlc) just to watch another time, after stopping the stream.
This happens all the time. Not just with live tv. Even with recorded and archived videofiles.
The timezone, were the streaming interrupts, is variable and not fix. It happened to me 10 minutes after starting a stream... it happened after 25 minutes watching and so on.

All this started to happen after upgrading npvr to 2.03 and vlc to 1.1.7 / 1.1.8 (cache cleared).

Any idea?

  nPVR bug - displaying thumbnails
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2011-04-04, 11:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

Hi sub!

I am not sure if this was mentioned before, but since the first npvr version, there is a bug/problem with displaying thumbnails.

As you can see above here, there are a few empty fields. Normally there are not so much of them (in most cases 2 or 3... sometimes it will be displayed a folder icon instead the right picture -> cache problem).

Now you can see, that the picture will be displayed, if i highlight the file.

And here, this one is new since nPVR 2.03, you can see that the picture disappears after moving the selection to another video (before 2.03 the picture stayed on the display if it was onetime highlighted).

Of course i deleted the thumbnail cache a few times, but this didn't helped really. Is there a file limitation of thumbnails?

Another nice feature (more a wish) were the ability to use .png files as folder graphics (because of their transparency channel).

  Streaming options in NEWA-NPVR?
Posted by: lazyslacker - 2011-04-04, 09:16 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (5)

I just installed the new version of NPVR and I was looking at the web interface. Am I missing something? It doesn't appear that there are any streaming options available. I don't have any button that says "stream" like there was with the version of EWA that came with older versions of GB-PVR. Am I just blind? Where can I find streaming options, where you can change the settings for bitrate, encoder codec, etc? Sorry if this is already addressed somewhere. The Wiki doesn't appear to have any recent information on this and I used the site's search function but I couldn't find anything. Thanks!!
