  1.5.31 -> 1.5.33 = glitchy & out of sync audio
Posted by: siliconaudio - 2010-10-18, 06:52 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I saw the other post about glitchy audio, but it got very confused with a separate MPG playback issue, so here we go again with a clean thread.

Upgrading from 1.5.31 to 1.5.33 has taken my pristine audio and made it very glitchy. Also, if I pause live tv, after restarting play, I have major sync issues I can't seem to resolve.

My source is just DVB-S (FreeView NZ Satellite). Something has taken a turn for the worse in this release.

  Multiple devices / chanels
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2010-10-17, 10:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

When I set up my dvb-s card & 2 x dvb-t, I used the same XML file for all the cards.

I get multiple chanels showing in the channels setup, and in the guide, even thought they have the same name & guide source.
Is this expected, or is there a way to merge the chanels together?

I use the epg eollector from geekzone, as I have to download data for my stb channels also ( and dvbtoxmltv was not working as well as it had in the past)

Blaster program firing, but no output from usbuirt
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2010-10-17, 10:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hey,

I asm just starting to test with NPVR, and wrote a program to take the channel number given output at record time, and zero pad to 3 digits for my STB.

The program works from commandline, but does not fire the blaster when NPVR runs it (I can see it running the command in the logs, and my program also logs the request, and wht it sent.

Is this relatd to the account in wich NPVR record service runs as? Does it need to be run as local user or something?
I tried ticking 'interact with desktop', but no change.

Running Win7 ultimate, UAC off.

Black Screen @ Live TV & Recorded
Posted by: sblueeye - 2010-10-17, 09:44 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (24)

Hi,

I've installed mvpmcx2 on my PCH-100 & got it working to the point I can see the skin. However, when I scroll & click on Live TV all I get is a black screen w/ no audio.

The ../temp/live folder does show a live .ts file getting bigger as time passes - a file which I can play on my PC and also on my PCH (however there's no audio when playback is from PCH).

I'll be grateful for any kind of help..

Thanks

Hard disk going to to sleep, or something else?
Posted by: IanJ - 2010-10-17, 05:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi all,

Have noticed that every now and then when watching live tv (no recording in progress) that my display will go very stuttery for a few seconds, and at the same time my PC will make a new whirring sound (sorry, I've never been close enough to see exactly what it is).

I have 2 sata drives, most of my media folders are all on this 2nd drive including recordings but photos are across my network on a QNAP NAS, and the Live Tv Buffer is in the default C:\Temp\.

I'm thinking my drive D is going to sleep and perhaps nPVR is checking in every now and then hence the stutteriness, whirring up.
Or, perhaps it's the auto-fan on the mb Cpu which is stealing my cpu to do housekeeping.

Any ideas before I start troubleshooting?

Ian.

Edit channel name when using xmltv as epg source
Posted by: Haggis - 2010-10-17, 04:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Can't seem to find any solution of how to edit the channel names when xmltv is used as the source.

Its been annoying me for some time now that I have a channel with extra text appended to its name:
Yesterday (Satellite/Cable)

It also screws up the channel logos, as they have to be named the exact same as the channel name, so its a no-go with the / in the name.

I realise that NPVR gets round this by decoupling the xmltv data from the channel names, but is there any solution for PVRX2?

  Hauppauge HD-PVR Question
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-10-17, 06:50 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I am thinking about getting one of these Hauppauge HD-PVRs. Does anybody know if there are any problems using them with NPVR, or should I be ok. My cable boxes have component out, so I figured I would take advantage of this.

  Manual recordings problem
Posted by: ttfitz - 2010-10-17, 05:26 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

I'm having some problems with the manual recordings, hopefully someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong, if anything. I've been messing with this for a week or so, came by here to post a message like this one, and saw there was a new version of NPVR which had changes related to the manual recording, so I installed the new version, but still have the same problems.

Okay, the cable company has been messing around with the location of the clear QAM channels, so I occasionally get a blank file when they've moved one. I had the idea that I could record a short bit from each channel every day, then have a script run after the EPG update to look for a zero size file in the manual recordings. So, I've tried to set up a manual recording for each channel. The settings used are "Daily" for the recording type, the name to what channel it is ("ABC", "CBS"), the date "Today", the start time and end time the same (spaced at 10 minute intervals), with pre-padding of 1 minute, no post-padding, keep one recording, no advance rules. I'm trying to keep these files from taking up too much space for this simple process, so given that manual recordings can only be set on a 10 minute boundary, this seems the best way.

With these settings, the program puts an entry in the "pending" list for each channel, each day over the next week. And it records all the channels as wished for on the day I set it up. But when I look at the "pending" list later on, all the future recordings have disappeared. Now, they are all listed on the "reoccurring recordings" page, with the date I set them up, but if I try to update them, I get an error "index was outside the bounds of the array", and I can't make any changes, or even see what the settings are. I don't get an error if I try to update a reoccurring recording that is made from the TVGuide.

So, any thoughts? I don't know why my "pending" recordings should disappear like that.

And if it will help any, here is the contents of the "Details" box on the unhandled exception:

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

  4 digit channels
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-10-17, 03:59 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Is there no support for channels larger than 3 digits? I can give channels 4 digit numbers, but it seems I can't get to them by entering the number directly. Also the channel OSD only shows the first 3 digits.
