Is there a less risky alternative to scanchannelsbda_uk?
Posted by: sheppy99 - 2010-09-18, 08:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've just managed to grenade my server by remotely running scanchannelsbda_uk on the console.
I just started it, it hung, couldn't be closed and now prevents the server from rebooting. It does this from time to time so I was wondering whether there was a less temperamental alternative way of checking signal quality and strength. Also should I stop the GBPVR service whenever I do this or will it sit there happily as long as nothing is due to be recorded?

  Help with HDHR dual tuners
Posted by: jd1940 - 2010-09-18, 07:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I'd appreciate help in getting my HDHR dual tuners to function with GBPVR. They work fine with WIN7 MCE and I had no trouble getting a HVR950 to scan for channels but nothing I've tried gets them to scan sucessfully with GBPVR. I had no trouble with the EPG but I'm completely blocked in attempting to use GBVPR because of the inability to achieve scanning success.

I'm using Cox cable as a feed. All I'm trying to do is to get the open qam channels from 114-117. Everything else is covered by the HVR950.

I think I've attached the logs to this posting but I'm not totally sure.

Any help will be appreciated.

  ASRock Core 100HT MCE Remote
Posted by: Miller - 2010-09-18, 02:17 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

I just purchased a ASRock Core100HT-BD to use as a client in my living room. I also have a Universal Digital R50 that I would like to use to control it. The Core100HT came with a MediaCenter remote and already has an IR blaster integrated into the box. My question is if anyone has some ideas on how to control GBPVR with either remote instead of MediaCenter. I tried the remote and it controls MediaCenter just fine. But I can't even find which program it has loaded in the background to do this. Any and all help would be appreaciated.

  Blank EPG
Posted by: sheppy99 - 2010-09-18, 12:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (19)

I've just started using GBPVR after a long absence and a couple of times I have discovered an empty EPG with no channels or programs using the web interface. Right clicking on the icon and selecting reload EPG fixes it until it happens again a few days later.
How do I troubleshoot this or is it easier in the long run to upgrade to the new version?

  Seeking while playing videos
Posted by: aesn5 - 2010-09-17, 09:52 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I've been using GB-PVR for a while now and switched to NPVR. I noticed that it doesn't seem to be possible for me to seek to a specific position while playing videos, that is to use the mouse to click on a spot within the playback progress bar to jump to that specific position. Forward and rewind by using the keyboard shortcuts are working correctly. Is this feature not implemented (yet) or am I having some issues?

Best regards

aesn5

  No Channels found
Posted by: McCorduroy - 2010-09-17, 04:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Hi-

When scanning for channels upon initial setup, NPVR is not finding any channels. I'm using a Hauppage WinTV-HVR-950 USB stick with an analog cable input. Under the 'Devices' tab it lists the WinTV device (actually it lists it as WinTV-HVR-980) and the type listed is ATSC. That indicates a digital signal, doesn't it? I assume that's the reason I'm not finding any channels. I'm able to use the WinTV7 utility with no problems. I can't find an option to change the type of signal, or adjust the setup of the input device. Any ideas?

Thanks-

Can NPVR record directly to .mpg file?
Posted by: mad-marco - 2010-09-17, 03:46 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi All,

From within GB-PVR you could change the mux to allow recording to .mpg file. I find the .mpg files easier to handle and convert outside of NPVR. Does anyone know if recording directly to .mpg is possible?

TIA Marco

Selecting Update for a recurring manual recording returns an unhandled exception.
Using an Advanced rule in the manual recording.

Two PCHs, one runs NPVR, the other doesn't
Posted by: StevHodge - 2010-09-17, 11:22 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (16)

I have a PCH A110 working nicely, running NPVR, on my network (thanks to martin)
Now I have put an A100 on the network (for another TV), which won't run NPVR
The PCH finds the network share, but when I select NPVR in the HTML screen I get the 'request cannot be processed error'. Unlike the A110 the A100 has a hard disk installed. I have told NPVR to start two servers

Syntax checker output follows. Could someone look at it and see what might be wrong
