  Channel mapping problems
Posted by: pcostanza - 2010-08-19, 12:00 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I've played around with my channel mappings and merged a few stations and 2 of my pending recordings need to be changed. Problem is, I can't delete them from within NPVR as it crashes when I try.
Which file or files is it I have to modify to make the changes manually? I tried recording.backup but the changes don't seem to make a difference.

PCTV Dual Sat Pro- Need IR Remote Help
Posted by: sherlock - 2010-08-19, 11:40 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Starting to build up my system, have the PCTV dual sat pro, the IR remote that it comes with can it be made to work with 3rd party software?

If not what is the best remote for the job, and do I need to add a IR receiver, or will the one on the PCTV card work.
Started using PCTV and GBPVR after telling BT Vision to get lost after their box kept crashing.
Any help will be welcome.

QAM and Analog channels in the EPG
Posted by: EJCastellanos - 2010-08-19, 04:55 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

All of the QAM channels I have mapped are showing up twice in the EPG. Is there a way to consolidate them so that the channel appears once as it does in GBPVR?

If not, I imagine it is better to disable the analog channels that I have mapped to QAM as well. The quality is much better from what I can determine.

Unable to process .ts files for recording on DVD
Posted by: Trevor_de_S - 2010-08-18, 09:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Whether I set the capture MUX to ts-mux or ms-dvr the file is captured and saved as a .ts file.
I set it to convert to mpeg-2 after capture, but no converted file is generated.
With the captured .ts files I can play them in PVRX2 and in VLC but any attempt to load them into NeroVision9, or AVS4 results in the video track being loaded but the audio track is not recognised, a similar problem exists with DivX player and DivX converter and from their support staff I have now established that the problem is with the audio codec being used to capture the audio to the .ts file.
gb-pvr is using the AAC audio codec, while they (and presumably the other programs which are giving me problems) only support AC3 or MP3.
Is it possible to change the setup for gb-pvr to make it use one of these codecs for capture?

  Unexpected error in GetImage() ...
Posted by: skinny - 2010-08-18, 08:11 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

In the last 3 or 4 days I started getting a 30sec delay on some NPVR functions
I undid any recent changes I could think of, removed System and Searchlite plugins but nothing improved so I resorted to a complete uninstall and reinstall of NPVR...

The issue did not go away, the clip from NPVR.log below was after a fresh start of NPVR and then open the Recordings view there was a 30 sec delay in opening Recordings

Code:
2010-08-19 07:46:40.935 [DEBUG][1] Loaded menu item: Exit 2010-08-19 07:46:46.501 [DEBUG][1] Frame Render Rate=95.5968322753906 2010-08-19 07:47:17.345 [DEBUG][1] Unexpected error in GetImage() callback (@previewImage): System.ArgumentException: String cannot be of zero length. Can anyone advise where the error is originating?

UK, Scotland, Angus (STV North) - Transmitter Frequency Changes
Posted by: imilne - 2010-08-18, 03:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Attached are the new frequencies for this transmitter after it completed the final phase of its digital switch-over today. I've confirmed these after retuning my GBPVR box (still not using NPVR in anger Rolleyes).

They can be confirmed here: http://ukfree.tv/shutdowndetail.php?tx=NO394407

I've only included details for the five active DVB-T muxes. That site seems to list seven though. I'm aware of one being used for our DVB-T2 HD channels (that no PC hardware exists for yet), but don't know what the other one is for?

Edit: actually, if you wanted the DVB-T2 mux included, it would be C57, 762000.

NextPVR hangs after deleting a recording
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2010-08-18, 02:43 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I had watched a recording and deleted it afterwards, NextPVR just stopped responding after selecting the Delete button and never returned to previous screen. I killed it and tried to delete another recording, with same result. After a bit of investigating I found that the recording service was not responding, and I had to kill it and restart it using Services.msc

I suspect there is something wrong in my database which may cause Nrecord to hang. Is there a utility to check a SQL (I guess that is what it is) database and repair broken links, delete orphan entries etc.?

Attached logs and database.

  UK Freeview DVB-T EPG Problems
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2010-08-18, 10:44 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (24)

I have been using NPVR since the latest version came out but am having big problems with the EPG updates (OTA 7 day) - When doing auto updates (3am) and either updating from the Channels screen or the System plugin the EPG appears to download but then does not populate the Guide straight away!
To start with there is about half a day of every Channel (39) and random bits of guide for the 7 days.
After watching TV on any channel for 10 - 15 mins the guide for that channel & (I think) other Channels on the same frequency become populated. Unfortunately by this time any pending recording that had no program details has been removed and the only way to get them back is to delete the reccuring recordings and re-enter them. (Have had to resort to a pen and paper - having lost several recordings)

I have noticed in the logs that after the scan of every frequency (5) for epg update, all 38 channels are deleted.
I have deleted db3 file and started from scratch again thinking it was corrupted - but still problem.

Request - suport for FFDshow "IAmStream interface" plugin
Posted by: hoborg - 2010-08-18, 09:21 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Hi.
Since FFDShow implemented easy to use "IAmStream" interface to switch between multiple video/audio/subtitles tracks (local media), it should be easy to create GB-PVR/nPVR plugin to add suport in to GUI.

Right now you can (if you have latest SAF5 installed) switch between multiple audio/subtiles tracks by keyboard shortcuts, but GUI will be good for users with remote that doesnot support key mapping.

  Using Windows 7 64 bit...etc...etc
Posted by: zehd - 2010-08-18, 07:58 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

I thought I'd put on my scuba gear and submerge into the waters of GB-PVR for a brief swim.

Hope all is well with everyone!

I got a new Win7 64 bit system (glad I skipped over Vista!)

I tried for a lark, running UltraXMLTV on the new system.. Had a few stumbles... Going to update the docs on how to get around them.

First is UAC... My profile is already an administrator account, and still I had to set the program to alwasy run as an administrator.. strange... well for me strange... I read that that is the wonderful life of UAC... anyway... I read that the answer to UAC is turn it off...

I wonder if there is a way to keep it at default, but allow just my program to run ... an Allow List or something... I read up on the net and it looks like there isn't, but no harm in asking...

The other, I thought I'd try to compile Ultra as a 64 bit app and see how it went... unfortunately it has a couple of dependancies to Whurlstons dlls, and I get errors...

But the really, what benefit would I get from having a AnyCPU or 64 bit version for my app? It's probably not worth having the other dlls updated...

Anyway... all in all Ultra is working fine now.. just a couple of small nuisances...
