I decided today to try and get my HDHR setup and running again... it's not been functioning in my gb-pvr setup for a while.
So I deleted the device from gbpvr, restarted and then went through the process of re-adding it. I can download the EPG, scan and map channels, but when I go to perform a recording, I get an error like this in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log:
Code:
2010-01-31 21:02:21.525 ERROR [5] Error starting recording: System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

I've deleted and re-added the device several times to try and fix it, without success. Any ideas what this means, and how to fix it?
Sometimes the comskip markings are off and I want to watch a show without it skipping. My wish is to have a function where i can turn off comskip skipping when the default is to skip automatically.
I know I said in another thread that installing the correct mdapifilter.ax solved the problem, well it did not. I had gbpvr working briefly on a Win7 32-bit system, but for no obvious reason it stopped working. I have double checked bith mdapi and acamd versions and verified that they are correct.
I installed dvbdream on the same system, and with it I can watch one channel in the main window and two more (different) channels in pip-windows (an impressing sight, no lagging, no tearing and if I unmute the sound it sounds like it must have been in the biblical city of Babel during the greaf confusion ).
So acamd works, the cardserver works but gbpvr don't, and I can't understand why (I can watch and record unencrypted channels). Have I stirred myself blind or what? Logs attached, PsiLogProcessing=2 did not produce any file in C:\Temp.
Yesterday while troubleshooting a "going slow" problem I noticed some errors in my log that I thought were to do with my skin so today I removed all plugins & went back to the blue skin & discovered the errors are still there, I now assume this is a bug in 1.4.7?

this is for icon view, pvrx2log attached.
BTW is it meant to display embedded art for <DrawImage filename="@thumbnail ?
Out of the blue, I now get this error when I launch Config:

To be fair, GBPVR has been running well and I haven't tried to make any changes in the last month or so.
Config also errors if I try to exit with "OK" (to save any changes).
I have an HVR2250. My cable provider is switching all their customers to digital cable. They require a QAM tuner, and most channels are scrambled.
How am I going to continue using my dual channel tuner? Do I have to use their set top box? Won't I need two boxes? If so, I know I can use the IR blaster that came with my card, but how will I be able to change channels on one box, without affecting the other box.
My wife pointed out that we haven't had programming information for a couple of weeks on Comcast Channel 67 (Hallmark). Anybody have any ideas? Where does GBPVR store the raw data files?
Thanks,
-Brad
ps Using SchedulesDirect with the EPG plugin (not XMLTV)

Hello everyone, I'm looking to set my laptop up as a DVR/PVR and was having trouble piecing my components together.
What I have is a MSI laptop with 110GB of free storage space on my hard drive and a HDMI output. Also have a TV with a HDMI Input. My cable is through Comcast and uses a new High Definition (assuming digital) cable box. I'm basically wanting a simple DVR-type setup that will link to my guide and record specific shows whenever they come on.
My main question is what Hauppauge device should I be looking for? Since my laptop only has an express 34 slot and I'm not finding any Hauppauge cards for that, I assume I'll use one of their USB devices. That narrows it down to 36 devices according to the "supported cards" section in the wiki.... Any actual recommendations for simplicity? I don't mind fast-forwarding my media player through the commercials or stuff like that, just as long as the tv show gets saved to my hard drive I'm happy, I can figure out the rest of that stuff later. Wanting to stay around $100 or so for setup.
My next question concerns idea of hardware mpeg-2 encode. My laptop is pretty new, 1.8 ghz dual processor with 3GB of ram and Windows 7 32 bit. Is hardware MPEG-2 encoding something I need if I still want to surf the web while watching tv, or will my laptop keep up with the software to encode the signal running along with my internet browser. More-so, since I have a digital signal is there anything to actually encode?
Sorry for the routine questions, but after several searches of 5 pages each, I couldn't find anything to help me out, Thanks!
