  Channels DVR M3U import
Posted by: hdpvr-doug8796 - 2022-10-11, 12:04 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

If I see transcoded video say h264 [copy] and aac [copy] , does that mean I am getting full quality from the source?

My nextpvr is showing 5.0.x instead of 5.2 . I downloaded from the main file. What do I need to do?

No EPG for HD channels - fixed by reboot
Posted by: smiffypr - 2022-10-10, 07:49 PM - Forum: Windows - No Replies

I've been away for a few days, and I've got no new HD recordings, so I looked at the EPG, and I've got no listings for any HD channels.

I'm on Windows 10, in the UK, using one DVB-T dual tuner for SD channels only and another DVB-T2 dual tuner for SD and HD channels. The device priority is to use the T tuners first (if the channel is available on them) so SD recordings don't use the T2 tuners unless they need to. I have recently updated from V4 to V6.0.0.220904.

When I initiated an EPG update, the NextPVR Backend Status window sometimes showed something against the first tuner (SD only) so I thought that must be the problem. I tried disabling the SD tuners and tried changing the priorities, still no EPG for HD.

I though that before I collect logs etc I would reboot the machine, lo and behold, the EPG is updating all channels and the status window is showing nothing while it is doing it.

  Windows client list suggestions
Posted by: seattlefog - 2022-10-10, 05:28 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

The pending recordings list (and some others) reposition to the start of the list after cancelling (or adding) a recording. Can be tedious if in the middle of the list of a couple hundred items. Other lists also revert to the start of the list after changes.
Extend the regular expression used to ignore "the" and other specified strings, to additional/all listings.

Is there a way to install the previous version on Ubuntu 20.04?
Posted by: cptrohn - 2022-10-09, 04:26 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (2)

Hello,

I went to upgrade to 22.04 on my HTCP and performed a fresh install.   I see the version of NextPVR has updated from what I understand and I don't get nearly the same amount of channels.

Is version 5 still available?  I love the product and realize a lot has changed with the new LTS releases.  I will happily go back to 20.04 and NextPVR version 5 if possible.

  Docker HDHR users please read.

Recently there have been issues for many SiliconDust users with server API"s which have been temporarily reverted  but it appears that all users have until the end of 2022 to upgrade an unreleased  version after sub changes v6 to a newer discovery protocol.  I am not sure of the impact on v4 but sub will need to comment.  Both will work for the short term.

For short term mitigation, if you don't add new devices, or change IP's and are happy with your setup I recommend that v5 or v6 change the general setting to not to scan tuners on startup.

Here are two very relevant quotes from the SiliconDust forum.

Quote:The cloud assisted discover API was deprecated a while back and will be removed completely at the end of 2022.

Note that it will likely be useless before then as HDHomeRun tuners upgrade to IPv6.

Quote:I have restored the LocalIP value and I have restored the forced-ipv4 handling so it should should be back working for the moment. Please note however that this discovery mechanism is deprecated and will only return HDHomeRun devices that connected to the guide server using IPv4. Starting with the next beta release all gen5 and newer models will support connecting via IPv6 and if they connect via IPv6 they will not show up in this deprecated discover API.

Don't shoot the messenger, if you have comments direct them to the SiliconDust forum.

Crash on startup - sometimes. iOS and tvOs
Posted by: psycik - 2022-10-09, 01:39 AM - Forum: NextPVR iOS and AppleTV Clients - Replies (1)

Get some points where regardless of if it’s the iOS app (phone iPad) or Apple TV’s, I get to the choose server screen and choose the server and it crashes.

It was fine earlier today and now I’m having issues .  I wonder if related to having just updated the guide or a channel/show icon causing a crash.

But no way of diagnosing as if gets nowhere near a usable screen.

  Devices will not show up
Posted by: Dick B - 2022-10-08, 08:13 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (10)

I have 2 computers running NextPVR version 6, both worked normally until 2 days ago.
Currently, one is normal, but the other will not show the Devices. I have looked through all the posts and see other folks have similar problems, but I can not find a way to get the Devices to show up.

  original air date ignored
Posted by: a1blues - 2022-10-08, 01:35 PM - Forum: Other Clients - Replies (3)

here is an example in a xml guide file where the web nextpvr is showing the original air date from the date tag in the xml file rather than the previously-aired line in the xml file.
I wondered if nextpvr could use the previously-air date in future updates as this is more accurate

Clean install - LibreElec, Need NextPVR Backend
Posted by: ElJefe - 2022-10-08, 12:29 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (46)

Hello!

I'm in the process of switching my set-top box build from Windows 10 over to Linux and have installed LibreELEC (10.0.2 generic x86_64) and it is functioning.  I'm currently in the process of restoring the DVR function I had and am trying to install the NextPVR backend natively on the machine.

I've used Linux before but, LibreELEC has me somewhat stumped.
I've read through this thread,
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=59390

As well as this one:
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...=LibreElec

Being a clean install of LibreELEC (generic) the .deb method isn't available, so the manual route seems like it's what I need to do.  However, it's not clear to me how to install anything from the command line when I ssh into LibreELEC.

I did manage to find the Core .NET runtimes in the program add-ons and made it that far.  And I was able to check my /dev folder and the two tuners for my card are present.

But I (and I'm embarrassed to say) literally have no idea how to download and install what I need to install NextPVR from the LibreELEC command line.

Hardware: MITAC PD10BI MT Thin Mini-ITX MB, Intel Celeron J1900 embedded itx motherboard
Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250

TIA
