  [NEW PLUGIN] Programs Plugin
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-04-07, 12:57 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (9)

After a couple weeks of (reasonably) hard work I'm pleased to announce the public release of the Programs Plugin for GB-PVR.

About
The plugin allows you to play all your favourite emulator games, and launch utilities/applications and Windows games from within GB-PVR. For those of you that remember Reven's 'My Programs' program consider this a PVRX2'ed clone of it.

Use
Download and run the setup program from the Programs plugin wiki page. See the wiki page for config tips and a list of recommend emulators.

CommunitySkin and SkinPlugin Version 4 released!
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-04-07, 12:46 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (13)

After 5 months of (reasonably) hard work, myself, Fatmando and Hairy are pleased to announce a full public release of V4 of the Community Skin.

  • See the Community Skin wiki page for more info and the all important download links.
  • To avoid clogging up the announcements forum, please post on the Community Skin support forum with any bug reports or suggestions.
  • See below for details of some of the major changes and cool new features.
  • Simpler Installation: The Community Skin and SkinPlugin have been combined into one intelligent installer.
  • New Default Theme: The Community Skin now contains a new default theme (additional themes will be made available as separate downloads).
  • Two versions: The Community Skin has been separately optimized for Standard Displays (4:3) and WideScreen displays (16:9).
  • Improved SkinPlugin UI: Editable elements have been organized into categories (Themes, Graphics, Layout and Text) to make it easier to find what you’re looking for. Options are also better structured with the use of sub folders (making it much easier to browse through the range options than it was before). In addition, options can have a description which may help with deciding.
  • Global Textsize Option: Text sizes on every GB-PVR menu, screen and plugin can be easily changed.
  • Layout Options: The plugin now allows users to select different layout options for some of the default GB-PVR plugins (including some new metadata views).
  • Theme Management: You can now create your own themes, share them with others, and importantly name and delete them.
  • Open Source: Code and graphics are open source, which helps to ensure the future of the project and encourages other GB-PVR users to contribute.

all is lost - no recurring recordings no EPG etc
Posted by: jasjol - 2009-04-07, 12:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

I upgraded from 1.3.7 to 1.3.11 yesterday

I loaded the EPG and added recurring recordings.

today I could not get into the EPG and all recurring entries was lost - using the user account (a admin user) from where I installed)

I tried from another account and from that account I could get into the EPG but no data . from that user I could update EPG again. from this account all seems ok except for the reoccuring items I added yesterday is gone and the old ones are there.

And still in my normal account I cannot see anything in EPG and all recurring entries are lost in that account

what can the problem be?

I have Vista and also Windows MediaCenter but yesterday I deleted all scheduled recordings in Media Center.

I added my logs

Timeshift mode sometimes stops between shows
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-04-07, 08:44 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Now that I have solved my homegrown mistake that was stopping timeshift mode every five minutes, I am still having some problems.

Many times, timeshift mode behaves as expected: in other words, it pauses briefly between scheduled programs to begin recording, then playing, a new file.

Many times, however, the player has simply stopped when it reaches the scheduled end of a show. A file for the next show does not appear in the LiveTV directory. This happens sporadically; sometimes on the first change of program, but other times after three or four have swapped successfully, the next one will stop. This always puts my system out of the player and into the main menu.

My system is recording now, so I will have to post a log later. It takes a long time to reproduce this problem; I am hoping someone might know a solution without examining logs.

Cannot configure weather as video plugin
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-04-07, 08:12 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I've followed this instructions to configure Weather as a Video Plugin:

<VideoPlugin4>Weather</VideoPlugin4>

When I play a video, I press "4" and "F11" as instructed. The "4" key registers normally in the upper left of the screen, then "F11" activates the mini-guide as always.

Can anyone help?

I can't view what I am recording, but can view it after it's done recording...
Posted by: gemmagirl - 2009-04-07, 03:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (19)

I have done a few recordings now with GBPVR and for some reason I can't watch what I am recording while it's recording (I get a black screen, but I do get sound) But I am able to watch the recording after its done.

I have a Hauppauge 1600 with the latest version of GBPVR, I can upload logs if necessary.

  How to Uninstall
Posted by: Donald - 2009-04-07, 03:27 AM - Forum: Forum Issues & Documentation - Replies (2)

I can't find how to do an uninstall of GBPVR. I did a search and found mention of doing uninstall but do not know how to do it or where to look for it in the documentation.

The reason I want to do an uninstall is I installed a older version of GBPVR on top of the latest version trying to correct a blank window issue with the new version.

Now I have one config file working with the old version and the new version with no config file control.

Thanks for any help in advance.

  New version of StartPVRX2
Posted by: liteswap - 2009-04-07, 12:32 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Verion 1.9 is now ready. It adds:
a) delay focus is now sticky for future starts
b) display of current delay value on tray menu pop-up

Any other features you would like to be in there, I'd be happy to consider them.

What is StartPVRX2?
StartPVRX2’s primary aim is to ensure that PVRX2 remains the top window and so remains responsive, especially for computers used in a domestic environment and controlled primarily with a remote. You start this program instead of starting PVRX2 itself.

Get it here.

GBPVR, WinTV 150 Remote and essentials
Posted by: idunham - 2009-04-07, 12:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi all,

I've not setup my PVR yet, but as soon as my Hauppage WinTV-PVR-150 comes, again.

My questions, What all do i need to do to watch live TV/Record TV off of my soon to be PVR.

My other question, Do i need a remote before i setup my PVR? The Hauppage i purchased doesn't have the IR port for the remote.

And, on to the next question, What is a good, cheap but efficient, remote that i can use with Windows XP Pro (not MCE) or Windows 2003 server?

Thanks,
Isaiah

  GraphRecorder Initialization
Posted by: JimmyA - 2009-04-06, 09:18 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

I've been using graphrecorder for some time now so I can use an unsupported AverMedia Bravo Hybrid. I have had one problem all along and have decided to find out if there is a resolution.

If I use GBPVR before any other app that uses this card, all I get is a black screen without sound. If I use the app that came with the card first, Aver MediaCenter, I have no problems. I would like some way of initializing my card at startup so I don't have to remember to run Aver MediaCenter before I can use GBPVR.

Any ideas?
