Picture no snd ATSC, Analog OK
Posted by: Raymond2 - 2009-01-19, 04:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I just built a new HTPC and put a AverMedia tuner in it because of the good sensitivity reviews. It is sensitive but I don't get sound from the digital channels in GBPVR. The analog channels work fine.

It doesn't matter if I watch live or record it and then watch the recording. There is no sound in either case. It works fine from the AverMedia software.

Windows XP pro all patches. GBPVR 1.3.11 updated today. I downloaded the latest drivers and software from the Avermedia web site. The hardware is a ASRock A780GXE with a Quad core Phenom with 4 gig of RAM with a 1TB drive for video storage. Radeon HIS HD4650 for a video card. Let me know if I missed something you care about.

Attached are logs from doing a view DTV channel from the schedule and exit. It does show an error at the bottom but it doesn't make any sense to me.

Possible to have both NMT and PC Clients?
Posted by: rwalker777 - 2009-01-19, 03:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am using the TS Mux (which I think is about the only way to get reliable streaming to the NMT boxes) and trying to get a PC client on a Vista 64 machine working. Understand to do the PC client it needs to be one of the mpg muxes (Cyberlink or ATI). Anyone got a solution to this?

Thanks,
Roy

Progress bar on folder browse and buffering....
Posted by: vskatusa - 2009-01-19, 02:43 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

When I browse a folder and the folder content is quite large (or pressing a TV GUIDE) it appears as if nothing is happening and the user can get confused (I did).

It will be nice to show a "progress bar" in these circumstances.

  How's this for a wish?
Posted by: possum - 2009-01-19, 02:03 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

This is a combo post for support & wishlist. I've been using the DVD part of GBPVR to watch DVDs on my HTPC instead of Windows media which I've been using for quite some time. I have a problem with the DVDs I watch. I'll watch the DVD intros and previews and so on, but when the main menu pops up, I wont be able to control the DVD, or select a menu item. This problem is easily fixed by pressing the menu button(which is actually the i button(or more button) on my gyration remote). Not that its a huge deal, but it'd be cool to get down to the bottom of that.
Now the wishlist part: When I navigate recordings and so on, I like to use short skip instead of FF/RW. I usually set my long skip to 30 seconds and my short skip to 3 seconds. On DVDs this can take FOREVER to find yourself to the middle of a DVD. I changed the setting to use chapter skipping instead of long skip, but it'd be really keen if there was a setting to change the length of the short skip for DVDs as opposed to TV. I would use my standard 3/30 for TV and I'd use 30/chapter for DVDs. maybe there is a way to do this already.
One more item on my wishlist. I'm in love with the new slick skin. I think it looks really, well, slick. One thing that I like to do is use my desktop background image as my slick skin background so when I press the big green button on my remote, the icons on my desktop(theres usually only 5 or 6) disappear and GBPVR appears over the exact same background. It really makes things appear seamless. What would be cool is if you could delete background.jpg and it would revert to windows desktop background by default, or to add an option to just copy the windows background. The only reason is every time I change backgrounds(btw, she loves to) I have to dig up my skin folder and copy the image to background.jpg, otherwise the old background image appears instead. Its easy for her to right click on any picture and make it a background, but it doesn't carry over into GBPVR

tell me what you guys think

  2250 dual setup
Posted by: gunterhausfrau - 2009-01-19, 01:33 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

I've got one of the digital tuners set up correctly, I think. Took me a bit, but I can map the digital channels (ATSC). Now when I map digital to EPG on tuner1 it runs through 68 channels and finds everything. When I do the same on tuner2 it goes through 138 channels and doesn't find anything.

Seems the 68 vs 138 might be a clue? I did uninstall all the hauppage stuff as I did have a 350 prior and couldn't map any channels (at least consistently) but puzzled so far on the difference between the two tuners. I've got the same EPG source listed for both (is that correct?) looked at the ini file and they look to be the same? Do I have one set up for QAM (not sure what that is) and the other for ATSC?

Thanks.

Hello everyone

I am going to build a home pvr machine and have seen the gbpvr software, i was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what tv tunner card should i buy if i need it to have a dual freeview option so that i can record one channel whilst watching another. I also need it to have a Av in.

Another question i have is will the gbpvr software be able to record using the av input?

How to get New Listings and icon data displayed using Zap2xml
Posted by: garytn9988 - 2009-01-18, 09:44 PM - Forum: ZTools and UltraXMLTV - Replies (4)

I am currently using GB-PVR 1.3.11 and using zap2xml as the EPG data grabber. Everything is currently working, I'm getting my TV Guide schedule but just the basic information.

My currently UpdateEPG.bat file has the following entries:

C:\GBPVR\EPG\zap2it\zap2xml.exe -u userid@charter.net -p password -A -i icon
copy "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\xmltv.xml" C:\GBPVR\EPG\xmltv.xml

Questions:

1. How do I get the extra data displayed in the TV Guide? Like if the show is New.

2. How do I get the icon information to display? The icon data downloads but unable to open the files. They download as .gif files.

Thanks for any help

  ROM close
Posted by: tonydotigr85 - 2009-01-18, 09:15 PM - Forum: GameZone - Replies (7)

How do you close your ROM and exit back to GBPVR? I'm using Nestopia and ZSNES and when I close a ROM it just goes back to emulator menu. I'd like for it to go directly back to GBPVR.

Thanks all!
