  1.3.11 available
Posted by: sub - 2009-01-16, 12:15 AM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (66)

You can download 1.3.11 from http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR10311.msi

As with past releases, if you dont already have them, you need to have .net 2.0 or higher installed, as well as the updated Microsoft runtime from http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip.

If you're upgrading from a previous release, I recommend you backup your gbpvr.db3 and config.xml files just in case anything goes wrong. Post any problem reports in the Support forum.

From the change log

Quote:
- fixed a couple of problem with multi-record (recordings that could continue recording after they were supposed to stop, and recordings that could try to record on the wrong frequency when there was a back-to-back recording with only a padding overlap)
- fixed a problem with .ts playback on files over 4GB
- fixed a problem that could cause slow half speed audio
- added logic to only try multi-record when no encrypted channels were being recorded with the device
- fixed a problem with metadata or cover art not updating in some situations
- fixed a bug where multiple video/music library directories are defined, and folder.jpg wouldnt be shown in icon view for the top level
- MENU_EJECT_CD key working again
- added popup to warn if no dvd was in the drive
- added new events to let plugins know when startup is complete, and when the app is about to shutdown. This is useful for plugins that own external limited resourses, like LCD displays etc
- fixed problem where .ts file duration reported during playback would vary widely until a good average bitrate could be determined (timeline OSD jumping all over the place until a good way into the file)
- improved .ts playback compatibility with certain audio decoder (MPA, ffdshow etc).
- updated the 'check for renamed recordings' to handle .ts files
- failed recordings are now listed in the 'whats new' section of the Recordings screen. Previously they were only listed in the 'ready' section.
- fixed a PsiParser bug that could cause occasional crashes
- fixed a bug with DVB EPG parsing which could access violation crashes.
- extended the current selection remembering to work with the top level selection when multiple video/music/photo directories have been specified.
- no longer showing the tray icon options to restart the recording service on Vista machines, since permissions wouldnt allow it anyway
- tray icon tuner status popup now compatible with Windows desktops using large fonts
- should no longer need the various "BDASubmitTuningRequestTwicexxxx" config.xml settings set to true. Live preview channel changes are slightly quicker with the
- if you delete the last recording in a group in the recording ready screen, it now returns to the group list, with previous item selected (instead of returning to top of list)
- fixed a problem that could cause some channels to not be found during a channel scan
- fixed a jitter problem that could occur in the last build on the MVP and PCH.
- added a few minor tweaks to slick skin to avoid some text clipping, and to make text more readable
- updated EWA build

  How to define tuner card?
Posted by: archp2008 - 2009-01-16, 12:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hello,

I have a VistaView DA 1N1-I dual tuner card. The manufacturer indicated that it should work with GB-PVR. I am able to scan all channels successfully with the TuningAssistant but that is about as far as I am able to get. I don't know if I was supposed to be able to view/hear anything during the scanning process. The card is not listed in the Config Sources and I can't figure out how to make it appear there. Any comments would be appreciated.

  PVR-500 & Nova-T 923(909)
Posted by: Basher52 - 2009-01-15, 10:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Right now I got a WinTV-PVR-500(dual analog) and I just ordered a Nova-T 923

Now I wonder when having both these cards in the same machine and to use them with GBPVR is there a way to prioritize the Nova card if I want to record a channel that is digital but still be able to use these digital channels also on the analog card cos for me I can also get that by the analog card.

ex. I want to record channel 1,2,3 where 1 is an analog channel, the other two digital.
When recording this I want to use the Nova card for either channel 2 or 3 but NOT 1 since that it can't receive that channel.
another ex. to record channel 1,2 where both are digital then I also need the analog card for one of the channels since I can also get all digital channels by analog means, thus I can't just remove those frequencies from it.

I hope you know what I mean by this?

  Possible to substitute channels?
Posted by: Onenutt - 2009-01-15, 09:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Is it possible to do this in GBPVR? I am looking into getting a Hauppauge 2250 in the hopes of recording the free HD channels that are broadcast over my basic cable package, however Schedule Direct does not provide listings for these channels. My main concern would be to substitute the HD version of the local networks in place of the analog (for example, I want to make channel 78-3 show up as channel 5) Is something like this possible?

  MVP Restarts When Selecting NetFlix
Posted by: lajams - 2009-01-15, 09:39 PM - Forum: Netflix Watch Now - Replies (1)

I just updated to the latest version of GBPVR and installed the NetFlix plugin. I configuredf the plugin and restarted the recording service. The plugin appears on the MediaMVP screen fine, but when I select it, the MVP restarts. Any quick things I can check/verify before gathering and posting the logs?

TV GUIDE - Show Logos - Help
Posted by: vskatusa - 2009-01-15, 09:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi,

I have followed the twiki on the subject but yet the logs do not show up in the TV GUIDE. Is there any another changes I need to do on some xml file for these logo's to show?

BTW, I am using the latest version of GBPVR with "community skin"

I saw a post to make the following change and now the channel number shows up but not the logo (the number has been changed from "3" to "0")!

<TVGuideChannelHeaderType>0</TVGuideChannelHeaderType>

Manually choose which tuner at the time of scheduling
Posted by: mian - 2009-01-15, 05:48 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

I'd like to have an option in the GUI where, when I select a show to record, I manually can choose the tuner I'd like to use instead of it being chosen automatically by gbpvr based on the device number.

Currently, AFAIK, to choose a tuner, I'd have to do it on a channel by channel basis, by disabling all channels I'd want to be recorded by plextor from my 2250's epg and vice versa. I'd rather be able to do it on a per recording basis than on a per channel basis since there is no channel I'd want to be recorded entirely digital--I don't have the drive space for that at the moment.

Should it be a potentially confusing addition for other users, it could be done automatically by default (like is now) and could be toggled from an ini or from the config program to have the manual selection enabled.

What do you think?

  Will this work at all?
Posted by: Gatortail - 2009-01-15, 05:27 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I have a Video Capture Device I used to transfer VHS tapes to my hard drive. Recently I bought a couple of those DTV Converters and it occurred to me that maybe if I connected them DTV Converter-Capture Device-PC with GB-PVR installed, I may be able to watch/record TV on my PC.

Some complication: I live in an area that will be exempt from the DTV conversion and will continue to receive analog signals for at least awhile because it is rural and uses translators. So I thought my idea might work with my laptop when I travel to a DTV supplied zone, if at all.

Secondly, since I will continue to receive analog signals at home, and have analog pass-through DTV Converters; if this might work with a digital signal for my laptop, would the analog pass-through affect the (analog) signal in any way that would allow it to work even at home on my desktop in the above configuration. I realize this would be a real stretch (converter box being OFF when passing-through) but worth asking.

I am obviously not technically savvy in these areas -- hacking is always a learning process for me, one way or another.

Thanks,

gator
