I just switched to GBPVR 1.3.7 and noticed that MVP does not play recordings from the library if the path or filename does contain the german umlaut ä.

I guess the problem is not that specific, but I've did not run more tests. MVP-PVRX2.exe-1.log contains the following exception:

"Ein leerer Pfad ist unzulässig" means "an empty path is illegal".
The file plays fine in PVRX2. It also plays fine at the MVP when renamed to not contain the german umlaut.

I recently upgraded from the old gbpvr.exe to pvrx2.exe (GB-PVR v1.2.13). I have been using GB-PVR to record programmes by remote control while I am away from home for several months at a time. To do this I have been using LogMeIn (http://www.logmein.com) to remotely control a computer at home. This has worked pretty successfully for more than a year.

Having now upgraded to v1.2.13 I have hit a problem. It works fine while I am using the computer directly, but by remote control when I open PVRX2 I see the outline of the window but no content. If I remotely control the computer from another computer in the same room I can see that the display is correct on the 'home' computer but an empty window on the 'remote' computer. This did not happen with my old installation of GB-PVR using the default skin. I am using the 'blue' skin but I have also tried Community3 and ContourHC without success. Can somebody suggest what is happening and how I can resolve the problem?

Thought I'd give the TS mux a try. When I try to tune a channel from the client's TV Guide it does not tune the channel and quickly reverts back to the TV guide. Cyberlink mux works though. Logs attached.

I have a problem with submenus in the Slick skin. I have a submenu with all music related stuff in it. Under Slick, I can navigate into the submenu, move left and right and select plugins. I can't seem to get back to the main menu either using the esc key or selecting the Back menu item and pressing Enter. I'm probably missing something...

I was having some issues with the last version of GB-PVR, so I uninstalled it and removed the DEVNZ directory before installing the new version. The first issue I had with the new version was that it didn't automatically start the config app when the install was done, nor did it start GBPVRTRay.exe. I rebooted, even though the installer didn't say to, and encountered my next issue.

Vista is blocking GBPVRTray.exe from starting at boot. An icon appears in the tray, saying that one of my startup programs was blocked, but it doesn't show the name of the program, just a "shield" icon. If I click on "open this program", GBPVRTray.exe starts just fine.

If I run PVRX2.exe, everything seems fine, except for the music library. When I try to access it, the screen briefly appears, but with no music files or folders shown, then drops back to the main menu. I am certain that the directory exists, it is "C:\Users\Public\Music".

I have attached all logs, with identifying info redacted.

all three of my digital tuners work fine. The analog one was recently set up once I understood the channel selection better (and to see the Canadian election stuff). So it worked then, but now it does not work.

When I go to GBPVR tvguide and select an analog channel, it quickly goes back to the Guide.

I removed the analog source and readded it. same problem.

I tried WinTV and the analog tuner works.

any suggestions on what I should try?

I have updated from 1.2.X to 1.3.7 and all seem to work ok except for one annoying popup that just started.

Every few minutes a box pops up saying

Visual C# Command Line Compiler has encountered an error and needs to close. PVRX2 and the mvp are still responsive and working, the annoying thing is on the server this popup comes to the foreground in front of the PVRX2 window.

This does generate an event log message pointing to csc.exe, but does not add anything to GBPVR logs.

I am running Windows XP with no additional plugins

Any Ideas?

A lot of friends of mine over @ BYOPVR are avid followers of GBPVR, and my patience with MCE2005 has worn thin.

Got a new build, Asus M2NE, 2 gigs RAM ATI X800XL connected via DVI, and ATI HD Wonder. Nvidia Purevideo decoder. GBPVR v 1.213
Originally was going to stay with MCE, installed with all updates, latest ATI drivers for video card and tuner. Grew generally disenchanted with MCE, limited configureabilty and glitches.

Bought another HDD removed original, and installed XP pro on new drive, all updates, and the runtime and other update listed as requsite.
After insalling v1.213 and attempted configuration, after checking "show only devices installed" the HD Wonder pops in, leading me to assume that the tuner is installed correctly. At channel scan completion I am informed that no channels were found.
What is strange(to me)is when I reinstall the MCE HDD, MCE finds the channels. ( identical video and tuner drivers installed on both HDD)
I'm sure I have omitted something, but it eludes me,:confused: and now I am compelled to apologize for this blatent attempt to lure you into my personal quagmire.

I am also compelled to comment on the high level of support you provide. Most impressive.
I have attached the logs as requested,( I think) although I am somewhat reluctant to... just because they reviel my bumbling attempts to wield your software.

A while back I found some alternative .ico files that could be used as tray icons for GBPVRtray. I just preferred the way they looked over the standard icons. 1.3.7 is great, but the installation wrote over my old icons. Does anyone have any custom icons to offer?
