I've been using this decoder and it worked fine with the older release. Once I upgraded and playback a recording, I now get sound but just a black screen. If I switch to the Cybelink H.264/AVC decoder, playback of the same recording works fine. With Live TV sound and video are both OK, with either decoder.
sub - further to my post yesterday, I think I've found a fix for the ts to mpeg2 transcode problem and thought it was worth a separate post
When trying this from Video Library, if you remember, the popup says that it's beginning transcode then disappears almost immediately.

...running this from a command prompt, ffmpeg told me it was Unable to find a suitable output format for 'D:\GB-PVR\Two'.
Looks like the config.xml entry needs {DEST_FILE} to be put in quotes.
I have searched through these forums trying to find someone who has had the same experience as me with this card, but have come up dry. I have GBPVR completely up and running with program guides and everything. The problem comes in when I try to watch live tv. I can only do so 5 - 10 minutes before the whole computer crashes.:confused: It shuts down completely and restarts. I don't have this problem when I watch a recording or DVD. I have come to the conclusion that this is the tuner card and not the graphics card because if I leave GBPVR at the menu its fine, but if I switch to live tv and leave it there within about 5 minutes or so the system will restart. :mad: I am running a demo of beyond tv 4 and it has not crashed using the card which has left me confused :confused:. I have attached my logs from GBPVR if it helps. Any help to get this thing working right would be greatly appreciated.
I recently did a re-install to upgrade from Win2K to XP and now have a problem with audio quality in Music Library.
Playing the same files in Windows Media Player works OK.
Logs attached - if you have time to have a look and can give any clues it would be much appreciated.

Edit: I've tried changing the settings for the Audio Decoder and Renderer in playback settings and it didn't make any difference - I'm not sure whether they affect music playback anyway?

First post so I'm a total GBPVR dummy as you might expect. Excellent application so far, I'm loving it. I've searched for the answer to this question but no luck. Received my Nova TD 500 earlier, installed it, installed drivers, installed GBPVR and eventually got it recording two things at once (in fact four things at once!). Latest version of everything, XP, Intel CPU etc.
However, I can't get it to show 4:3 broadcasts in 4:3. It shows 16:9 broadcasts in 16:9 just fine (in fact the picture is excellent). I know what I've recorded is 4:3 because I played the .ts in VLC outside of GBPVR. Inside GBPVR, live 4:3 broadcasts play slightly stretched in width and recorded 4:3 programs play totally stretched to 16:9. I havent worked out how to fix this so I thought I'd ask.
I've been using GBPVR for a while now and love it... I've been itching to do something new to it. HD DVD sounds like a good idea. Obviously I need to buy a HD DVD? I presume I need a HD rendered, decoder? Any suggestions on a good one? Might the DVD drive come with one? Any drive recomendations?
Also, I'm using VGA output from the PC to my 37" 720 TV. I presume this is sufficient for HD DVD? Down the road, when I get digital tv, I intend to purchase a video card with HDMI out.
If for example I have an iso called "michael.iso" in my video-folder, I also have a file called "michael.iso.jpg" as the cover-art. what do I need besides the iso-file now in the new version?
I was just wondering if this will break the netflix plugin for me? I work 98% of the time on the mac - so it would be nice for me to be able to switch - but I don't want to lose the functionality on GBPVR. It looks like eventually they are planning on moving the whole plugin to silverlight rather than WMP.
