Hello...

I am having some trouble with a couple specific channels - 9 and 19 are not showing up in the guide. all channels are checked in the channel list and it is being selected as part of my SchedulesDirect lineup. Is there a way to save the SD xml that comes back to see if they are sending me the channels? Or is there a way to look into the DB3 file to see what is loaded? what is the best way to troubleshoot this?

So I cannot simply use the Microsoft MPEG-2 Decoder I already have?

Does anyone know a free decoder that works with GBPVR?

I can watch live tv in PVRx2 and play back GBPVR recordings with Windows Vista Media center, but I get

When I try to play a recording in PVRx2.

I'm quite new to mvp, what do I do to see gbpvr on the mvp tv in the other room ? I tried the client / server tab with no luck......

I am having problems opening GBPVR. My dedicated system for this project is a 1.2 Ghz AMD with 512 ram and a Hauppauge PVR-250.

I have installed GBPVR on windows XP professional. I have installed .net framework and installed GBPVR. The drivers for the tuner card are also installed. I was able to open GBPVR configuration and set things up according to the wiki in there. THe problem comes when I actually go to open GBPVR. It acts as if it is opening, and there is a blue bar across the top of the screen such as any windows program has, but the program never actually shows up. My desktop is still showing, but just with the blue bar at the top. (THe window IS maximized) and I know there is something going on, because I cannot click on anything on the desktop until I close the window.

I thought maybe it was a problem with windows, so I reformatted and installed Windows XP Media Center Edition instead of Pro. I got the SAME PROBLEM!

What is wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I need to replace one of my network switches. They're all 10/100 now. Would there be any benefit to going to gigabit switches? I run a client/server GB-PVR setup and it seems to work OK now (except for the flakey switch). Not sure if my wiring is cat-5 or cat-5e (what's the difference?). Any advice will be appreciated...

Forgot to mention...all my hardware will (supposedly) do gigabit...

Yeah so few weeks ago, I went to "recordings" and noticed that directories "look" big and not the normal size. I lived with it because I didn't have time to screw with it.

Today Zap2xml broke and wasn't updating so I figured that pvrx2 has broken itself enough that it requires my assistance in repairing it. Well I fixed zap2xml that was simple. But I'm scratching my head on this template theme problem. I've done a repair install of 1.1.5 but that didn't fix it. The mods I have installed was the community skin 3 and the plugin but its been working fine with those mods for several months up til the last few weeks. I reinstalled those after the repair install, but that didn't work. Unloading them to pvrx2 original theme didn't work.

I've been thinking about what a pain it is to do a DVB-S scan, and then trying to pick out the variations of channels I want afterwards from the drop down menu from a list of hundreds of channels i will never use.
It's never that easy, especially as my PVR setup has a touchpad instead of a mouse.

I'd like to see a feature whereby I can specify what channels I want to scan for, so I can say, ok, scan for all channels, or maintain a list of names, so for here in the UK, i might only want to receive 3 channels:

BBC1
BBC2
ITV1 Meridian (a regional variation of ITV1)

Then when I perform a scan, it would only match with my list, and only shows those that it found from my list in the drop down.

Looking in the scan.cache files, the regional variations are mentioned by name as in my ITV1 Meridian example above. so this should be possible shouldn't it?

Also, i noticed a thread just now that mentions changing PID's and having to rescan etc being a pain.
If the list was matched to the scans and the channels set up in GBPVR, then wouldn't it be possible to automatically assign by label rather than frequency?
Then a scan option could be added to the menu within GBPVR, and any changes would be picked up without having to drop back to the config and manual assignment etc.

I am sure this has been asked before....is it possible to have 2 themes running each with a different address?

I would like to be able to use the default theme for browsing from a PC
say:
http://xxx:7647/gbpvr/Guide.aspx

And then using miniopera on my phone with the mobile theme on say:

http://xxx:7647/gbpvr/Guide2.aspx

Possible? Been Done? or Wishlist? (or pure fantasy and it will never be possible?)


Another Q, I can delete recordings, but there doesnt seem to be a delete function in the normal video library is this normal? (i'm using the bundled version that came with the latests gbpvr)

I am using GBPVR 1.2.13. I have been using I-XMLTV.
But I am trying to get multiple lineups to work. I tried switching to native support for Schedules Direct. But everytime I try to Update EPG I get a unauthorized user error. Sounds like it does not like my user name or password. I verified that the user name and password work on the schedules direct website. I tried it without and with a lineup specifier. Anybody got a clue about what I am doing wrong?

I upgraded to 1.2.13 a few weeks ago and found that after each program change on live TV, the sound and picture went out of synch (on MVP). I switched back to 1.2.9 and it's ok again now. I noticed that with 1.2.13, the black screen / pause between programs seemed to have disappeared. I don't know if this has anything to do with it?

I'm using a mix of PVR 150 and 500s for UK Digital terestrial and Sky.
4 x MVP's, I'm now using an MVPMC dongle from mid April (tried a newer one but it didn't help). Playback is Intervideo, BDA - Cyberlink.

I've looked but haven't seem any similar problems reported. Any suggestions?
