ATM i can select 128,256,512 or Lan in Video Bitrate but i would like the option of 768 and 1Mbit is there a place i can add those values?

Not sure if this is an MVP problem but here goes! Latest version of GBPVR using supplied dongle. Everything works fine apart from one irritation. If you pause live tv and then watch some more and press Back you go back to the menu, no problems. If however the program has actually finished in real time, when you've finished watching your resumed tv and press back, live tv shows and the mvp doesn't respond to any button presses. Only option is to restart the mvp.

Hi, I own a PCH-A100 and am wondering about misc2 settings in config where you can "ENABLING NMT CLIENT STREAMING EXTENSIONS" and there is a user called "admin" with a "password"

What does that mean and how does it works.

There has been concerns raised because of the lack of a screen saver while music plays on the PCH and I was wondering if this demo made using mvpmcx2, GB-PVR, the normal NMT player combined with a picture slide show would be sufficient especially for plasma owners?

Took me an hour just to get ATSC OTA channels scanned and watching Live Tv. Picture Quality looks great! AC3 DD passthru is awsome. Some questions:

Shrink size of the Live Tv OSD??
Start in Live Tv mode?? (Skip the front end/main menu)

Can't get composite or svideo source working-
Added capture source
Found capture card type (Conexant Blackbird) by checking only show devices on this machine
Set to USA
Set to board #1
Tried every Composite and Svideo, External Tuners listed
Added a (dummy) channel
Launch Live Tv
When I get to what is supposed to be the composite or svideo input (between the highest and lowest ATSC channel), the video just stops at the last frame of the last ATSC channel. I never see video from that input and I can't change channels or back out of Live Tv mode with the mouse, I first have to change back to an ATSC channel with the keyboard.


Can't figure out simple recording
I'm watching live Tv and I want to record, but there is no button... OR... I want to set a manual timer but I can't set the channel or change the date, start time, end time, quality, type, name.


Biggest mystery of all- EPG
Don't even know where to start???? Is everything external based- xml's, plug-ins, online services/logins.... Can't this thing just read the guide info broadcast within the psip of each ota channel? I want the simplest setup for like 6 local ATSC OTA Network Tv.

This post is to help those who wish to build their own home theater PC - a build your own HTPC tutorial if you will.

My goals were simple:
1) I wanted a nice looking case so it looked more like another component that would fit in with the other components rather than a huge clunky pc.
2) I wanted it fairly quiet.
3) Had to be able to play 720p and 1080p programming.
4) Should be able to power up fairly quickly.
5) Cheap..well, as possible.

I initially tried to get the system to work without a hard drive by using a compact flash as a hard drive. Trust me, don't do it...it's too slow and it introduce many other problems. I tried it for power savings and silence, but in all honesty a regular hard drive doesn't suck down hardly any power and the newer drives are pretty quiet.

I'm planning to put together some hardware for my "media center".
Currently I have :
couple of old machines (PIII/700MHZ and Athlon XP 2GHz)
WIN PVR TV 350 Hauppauge card
File Server with 1Gbit card (Naslite running on it with 3 250GB Hdd's)
I have my dvd's ISOs images on the server plus my music and pictures

I''l have (in a couple of weeks) TV service form ATT's U-verse 1 PVR HD and 2 STB standard units.

What I would like to accomplish :

- Record video from standard cable STB (not really important)

- Watch my DVD's stored in the server (highest importance) with my surround system (Dolby/THX)

-Listen music

- Check Weather


Questions :

What could be a good/cheap video output card for TV ?
(PCI on old PIII and AGP on Athlon XP)

What kind of audio card (again good/cheap) do you recommend?


I'm trying to build a "just ok" system not expensive, maybe later on I can move to more $$$ components.

If satellite or cable STB's were ever to only have hdmi outputs are those type of connections unavailable to hd capture cards or devices like popcorn hour or hdhomerun?

Not so good on even modern Plasma which is supposed to be
burn-in resistant. Is there anyway we can have a screensaver kick in when playback is paused?
