Basically I have managed to get GB-PVR to record to my 2 Terabyte fileserver. It been pretty sweet until you restart the machine or have a power outage. My Fileserver is on a battery backup so is 65% of the network.
Guess where my PVR is in the network... its in last 35% of the unprotected network. The PVR machine is not on a battery backup either.
The problem I am having is that when I go to recordings in GB-PVR after a restart or a power outage, about 75% of all the programs that I had recorded and that were in the list before restart/Power is no longer there. I can go to video library and play any of the programs and they are just fine. Just no data info for any of the programs that gb-pvr can use.
How can I correct this or is there a better way to record the programs and move the files to my fileserver?
My config has changed quite a bit the last few days and now my commercial detection is sucking. I just replaced a bad 150 with a new PVR-150MCE edition and upgraded from 99.5 to 1.08.
Can the new card need different comskip.ini settings due to different black values or something? The commercial detection was right on with the previous config.
Does anyone have a nice USA config with Comskip and 1.08? I would love to see your comskip.ini file as it seems most the users in the comskip forums are outside the US.
I record the Daily Show and Colbert daily so I have been using those shows as my base in trying to debug this.
I did some reading in here and on the wiki and im a little confused.
I have Gamezone apparently working. I added Mame to the list under gamezone and it is there as an option. I can choose Mame and see the little Arcade machine in the bottom left but Im not sure how to get roms to work. I downloaded a rom, made a folder for it in my gamezone/mame/roms directors and installed the roms in the folder. I then went into config/plugins/Gamezone/Settings, I then clicked the Mame tab at the top and picked to build rom database.
I closed it out and went back into PVRX2 after restarting it. Opened up Gamezone again, then mame and there is no rom to choose from.
Can someone point me in the right direction please.
im unable to get sound when i play video recorded from hvr1600 on mvp i tried cyberlink, intervideo, ati, dvr-ms and ts mux. everything leaves the audio stream as ac3 i tried installing ac3filter but that knocked out the video too. i tried to use ts mux and added <MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS> using svcd and also tried <MvpTranscodeAllVideo> set to true which neither worked. how can i get the ac stream to something playable on the mvp ? i use a crossover cable to mvp so using mvpmc dongle isnt possible.
Hi sub, could you please add picture zooming support to Picture Gallery plug-in?
My suggestion is to use remote control number buttons to adjust the "pinning" of the picture and the CH buttons to zoom in/out (by fixed increments or decrements of 10%)
For instance the button [1] would pin the NW corner of the picture to the NW corner of the screen, [2] would align the picture top/center, [3] top/left, [4] middle/right, [5] middle/center and so on...
Pressing CH+ wuold increment the zoom factor by 10% and CH- wuold make the opposite (the base zoom factor beeing the "fit-screen" zoom).
By the way... I think that any operation made during a slideshow (zooming, pinning or even rotating an image) should reset the interval timer.
Thanks and bye!
Hemme,
an enthusiast GBPVR user who finally managed to to make version 1.0.8 to work on his VISTA + MediaMVP system ^__^
I thought about an idea to show description's for video files in a very easy way
The general idea is to place a text file containing some text in the folder where the video is. The user will give the text file the same name as the video file just with txt extension. Same as you can do with JPG files. This could then be displayed by using one of the color buttons in the Video Library.
I know that there are quit a few Plug-ins that provide this but they are all based on automatic content from web sites. The beauty of this is that the user will be able to update, change or edit the content of the deception however they choose and not rely on automatic downloads from the web. I am from Israel and a lot of my content is Hebrew so no Plug-in would offer a solution
As a Mythtv user (mythdora V3.2) I wonder what features this system has or lacks, maybe some of the users here could help with their likes and dislikes.
The opinions of those with previous working Myth setups would be appreciated.
I would also be interested if this (gbpvr) could be used to access my recordings and livetv, etc from my mythtv setup.
I'm fairly new to GBPVR (only played with it briefly) but am looking to spec a new tv/ av system to fully incorporate it.
The current setup is as follows:
- Several pcs and laptops on home network
- Internet through server/router PC
- Main TV in living room with TVs in other rooms
- Sky Digital with link back to all TVs from RF2out
- Assortment of DVDs/VCRs/standalone audio devices
- >2 CAT5 lines to every room
Since I am going to have to do something with the TVs to get them set for digital switchover (South of England so a couple of years left yet but still) I thought it would be a better solution to install a computerised system than many set-top boxes. My idea is as follows:
- 1 Main GBPVR PC: output connected to main TV
~ 2x DTV cards or dual DTV card

~ 1x video capture card (for Sky with IR control)

~ 2xDVD drives (1xRegion1 & 1xRegion2) + CD Drive
- Server with circa 2Tb storage for all media
- Hauppauge MVP per TV (3 or 4 most likely)
- Slim Devices Network audio players in various rooms (software running on gbpvr machine, data from the server machine)
- remote access via internet connection
Just figuring out the detail at the moment but have a few queries:
- Has anyone out there got a similar setup?
- What sort of spec would I be likely to require on the GBPVR machine given that several MVPs or audio players, may want to coonect simultaneous and have access to data/ video cards/ optical drives? (max 2 or 3 simultaneously I guess)?
- Any sudjestions / thoughts / advice?
Obviously it will cost a fair bit to set up and get functional but I imagine that it will proove a much better solution than any alternatives?
I have a Hauppauge 1600 with GBPVR 1.0.8 connected to a MediaMVP on my Hi Def TV. My goal was to have a High Def PVR but I did not want to move my computer downstairs next to the TV and be forced to only access the computer thru the busiest TV in the house. In reading these forums it appears the MediaMVP does not support Hi Def TV- is that correct? If yes, are there any other options for getting HD from my computer onto my downstairs TV? If not, if I did move my computer downstairs by the TV, is there any way to access the computer from upstairs? I am hoping I didn't waste the $$ on the MVP...
Since the upgrade i have not be able to access the web version of GBPVR. It works fine on the system itself but trying to access from a networked computer or External Site Using http://192.168.1.65:7647/gbpvr/index.aspx or a DYNDNS webaddress respectively for the address. Locally i'm using http://127.0.0.1:7647/gbpvr/index.aspx
When trying to access from anywhere else in IE or firefox i get "The connection has timed out"
