Having only recently discovered gbpvr, and 99.12 is working perfectly, I am now uncertain whether to install the new version or leave it as it is - based on the old adage "If it 'aint broke, don't fix it!"
Can anyone advise me why I should upgrade, i.e. the main advantages?
Regards
Pob
My GBPVR setup is pretty much "done". It works perfectly and we rely on it so much that I really hate messing with it.
So...I'm looking for another project.
I have been reading a lot about arduino boards and some cool things that can be done with them. Seems like this may be a good intoduction to programming too.
I have just started teaching myself Joomla but I'm not all that excited about it.
I have another barebones P4 sitting under my bed. Thinking about taking another swing at Linux and building a file server / NAS device.
Anybody working on anything cool?
I'm looking to advance from Advanced Noob to entry Level Geek.
Starting with 99.12 and now with 1.08 I get consistent crashing on the MVP. Two things happen. First, you get about two minutes into a recording and it resets. Second, during a key press it dumps.
99.12 was not near as consistent in crashing, 1.08 it is expected. Usually on the second crash, I have to go to my pc and restart recording services to get the MVP going again.
BTW, I am using a wired MVP through two Belkin 802.11g routers (one set as an AP), of course this is always an issue (cursed microwave!!).
I have seen no posts about this, does anyone else have this experience?
I have a quick question on graphedit. Does this app simply show how audio and video are being converted or can it be used to control how another app converts files. If so, how? I see how to set up different filters, decoders, etc... just don't know how it controls the conversion (if it does).
Has everyone heard of the newly formed organization comprised of MythTV, XMLTV and MacProgGuide guys to provide TV listings for the masses now that Zap2It has stopped providing them?
Just had a mail through from ebuyer, a bargain at this price - cheapest I've ever seen one is £29.99. I'm 99% sure it's the same stick I have (type 3) so can confirm it works.
I've been using my MVP and GBPVR for a while now, but am looking to replace my 2nd TV (the one the MVP connects to). With the prices of LCD monitors being lots less than LCD TV's, I was wondering if there's an equivalent (or way of modifying) the MVP so it outputs VGA? I never use the tuner on the TV, so I feel hard of paying extra for it (yes, I am a skinflint ).
I am working on an alternate internal video player within my Plugin. I have based my internal player on UbuStream's WMP Player, but I have tweaked the interface and added my own features to some of the standard keyboard shortcuts (mainly to include marking commercials in the recording). But this is where I have run into my problem.
In order for player to be completely controlled by a remote control I have added an event listener to the Form's Keydown event. This works great except for one situation. When the user enters fullscreen mode, exits fullscreen mode and then re-enters fullscreen mode the Ctrl+F (fast forward button) and CTRL+B (blue button) no longer trigger the Keydown event. The only way that I have been able to find to solve this is to click on another component on the form other than the WMP ActiveX Component.
In order to put the form into a true fullscreen mode I have used a couple of Windows API calls. As documented by Microsoft (although I don't have the article handy), any form which takes up the entire screeen and a BoarderStyle of none will be recognized as a fullscreen form and automatically cover the taskbar. So in order to do that I use GetSystemMetrics() to get the size of the screen and then use SetWindowPos() to move the window to the top-left corner of the screen and resize it to be the size of the screen and finally maximize and remove the boarder of the form.
I will post my entire source code package when I get to work, I am pretty sure most everything else works (although feedback is always good). There are two libraries which you will need to put into your GBPVR directory in order to run the Plugin. These can be found in the "\Debug\bin" directory of the source code and are named "AxInterop.WMPLib.dll" and "Interop.WMPLib.dll".
Any help is much appreciated since I have been struggling with this for the past couple of weeks and I am completely out of ideas.
