just got my hvr-1600 74021 from fedex about 3 hours ago. help!
ran the qam scan and did not get any channels in the scan. but the hauppague software picks up some sort of channels. still have yet to get a picture.
When I go to the guide, try to bring up the mini guide, and go to anything in recordings the MVP drops its session. My default view of recordings is what's new and if I try to go ready or pending it causes the drop of connection.
Hi guys hope you can help.
New user to GBPVR, using Hauppauge HVR 4000, Vista Home Prem.
When I start Gbpvr can get no live tv, tells me no channels are set up & to update the EPG, which I think I've done countlesss times, with both DVB & xmltv sources.
I get preview channel displays when mapping to EPG, have updated EPG from both mapping & source list, exit config via OK button from all screens.
TV display works ok with both Cyberlink power cinema & Win Media Ctr.
Not included logs etc @ this point as I'm sure I'm missing some thing silly.
Thanks in anticipation
ok, I've decided I want to build another computer, that I will use as a 'media center'
what I want to be able to do: record from tv/cable onto a hard drive.
Watch movies or tv shows I've recorded off of the hard drive.
Now, I've actually somewhat decided the rig I'll build, and it's only costing me ~$250-300 (But I dont know what tv-tuner to get)
MY question is, what software should I use to do all this?
From what I've been able to find online, I think windows media center 2005 will be able to do everything I've stated.
Anyone have any other suggestions/ideas? Maybe there's some good software for linux?
Also, anyone know a tv-tuner to use for this?
I was thinking maybe the pvr-150 or 250, or an AIW
any tips on amount of memory or cpu I'd need?
The build I'm considering is something like a Intel Pentium 4 550 and 2x512 ram. an hdtv wonder from ATI for the hdtv tuner, and either an AIW or a hauppauge for the analog tv tuner.
I THINK i will run both a hdtv tuner card for OTA signals, and an analog tuner card, to be able to connect everything to my vcr and then connect it to the computer, then output it to tv via s-video on the graphics card.
Is that how I should setup the wiring?
Any wiring tips would be great as well.
I have cable and satellite. What I was thinking to do for setting it up, would be to connect cable to the satellite input, then satellite output to vcr/dvd combo drive input, then that output goes to the computer/media center's input, then output it from the media center via s-video to my tv.
This way, I would be able to record from everything, just gotta get the input correctly.
Hi I bought one of these wireless keyboards today, but When I put the dongle in, it trys to install and then says there was a problem installing the drivers, the drivers are already on the dongle.
I bought a MCE remote, but it didn`t come with any drivers, Can someone point me in the right direction of where to get these drivers from or if someone could send me the drivers.
In gbpvr config, I'm trying to find the best combination of video and audio decoder settings. I still don't know which ones to have.
I've tried a few combinations and for each one so far, the audio and video is out of sync (with each other). One combo had video freeze that would happen throughout and last a second or two but I think I fixed that part.
If anyone has perfect sync and it is consistent, could you describe what you did?
Thanks.
My main problems right now is that issue and black/white picture.
[COLOR="Red"]This software no longer works since Yahoo! has disabled the listing feeds.
If this situation changes let me know and I will revisit keeping this software active.
I am now using SchedulesDirect (http://www.schedulesdirect.org) and it works great!
