Sub,
I logged into safe mode this morning to scan my PC and it found nothing so I went about as normal. Well, after awhile I decided to open GBpvr and see If there was anything I wanted to record this afternoon...... After I double clicked the gbpvr Icon it seem gbpvr wanted to reinstall itself and put some folder in my C:\program files\ directory called devnz......
I've had gbpvr forever and it's never tried to do this.
Does your program add this folder or could this be an issue I need to worry about. Spyware / Virus ? thanks
Just installed gbpvr on fresh install of xp , i have added the bda ini for the nova t 500 but it is still not in the dropdown list of tuners and when i click only show devices installed on this machine i get the responce " No known cards detected " Anyone come across this problem or can help ?
Just wanted to share my solution for computer/GBPVR freeze up. I am using version 99.05 and my computer was freezing up at random times with no obvious log entries. A freeze up like this required that I reboot the computer each time and the recording service would stop and all functions on the computer would stop couldnt even VNC to it. So it finally did it while I was watching a show. So I was better able to track it down. Seems that the lockup was occuring because I had the system's clock set to automatically sync(Checkbox) with a time server specifically time.nist.gov here in the states. When it was unable to sync is when it would error out. I unchecked the box and have since had no problems. So this was my gremlin thought I would share hopefully it helps someone.
Why are so many forum users reluctant to fill in the Location field in their user profile for the GB-PVR forums? As someone who regularly has to deal with support questions for my plugins, I find it really helpful to know where people live.
Knowing their time zone lets me know if I have 12 hours to research the problem (because they are probably asleep) or if they are likely sitting by their computer expectantly looking for a response from me. Knowing which country they live in lets me know what content they might have available to them and what restrictions may apply to that content. And knowing if English is their native language tells me how to phrase my response. I tend to keep my wording simple and avoid vernacular "slang" if I'm responding to someone for whom English is a second language (or lives in New Jersey ).
I can see why people might be shy about revealing their age or occupation but why hide your location?
Hello! I want to use a m3u or a pls file with ubustrem. The file include more than one entries, but how can ubustream use this? I have made a station with a m3u file. Only the first entries will be played. Can ubustream "look" in the m3u or pls file and view the files (Video streams) in a list, so i can select one an play them ?
Can ubustream autoupdate the list, so when i update the m3u file new entries are viewed in the list in gbpvr?
P.S.: I hope you understand my "google" english :-)
I am absolutley giddy over this free software I found a couple of days ago.
It's called "Synergy", it's free and open source. It allows you to use the same keyboard and mouse to control multiple machines. It works flawlessly for me.
This is the first time I have ever donated cash to a project on the same day I installed it.
I have my laptop and the primary monitor from my GBPVR machine on my desk. I had 2 mice and a 2nd keyboard on the floor. I pretty much just used the GBPVR machine for things I could do with the mouse only since it was too much of a hassle to clear enough space for the 2nd keyboard. I now have just one mouse and use my laptop keyboard for both machines. You just move your mouse to the edge of the screen and it effortlessly glides into the 2nd monitor.
It seems this has been around for a while, so many of you may already know about it.
I've been reading around since I got a MS MCE Remote and want to configure some buttons (like missing Prev). What I have run across is that I will need the replament driver but that it has caused problems for people. So I was hoping some of you with experience would weigh in here for me
Is there a plugin (maybe the screensaver one) that will allow you to flip between different types of informational plugin, such as the Weather, RSS Feeds, Cinema Listing, etc...
So in other words, if the screen saver was on it would say every 30 secs or so change from one plugin to another.
I hope someone can help. I've been using GB-PVR with ntl (now virginmedia) for several years now. Originally I had a pace stb, which was subsequently replaced with a silver Samsung one. I have a redeye serial IR transmitter to change the channel on the stb. This has been pretty hit and miss, due to the use of a toggle bit in the remote codes.
Now virginmedia has taken over, and my stb has just updated itself with new firmware, and the channel changing is even more problematic.
I'm using a pvr350 for capture and playback.
Is there anyone that has a solution for channel changing on this stb? I am prepared to buy a different IR transmitter if that will help.
Please, please let me know if you have any ideas!
I have the following configuration
GBPVR 99.12
WinTV PVR150-MCE
FloppyDTV-c MCE with Conax 4.00e
cable subscription smartcard of Comhem in Sweden
MVP extender
I have a problem relating to GBPVR and the FloppyDTV. It is not able to tune in the cable channels. I get a black/frozen screen, and a message saying that no signal is received (even though strength and quality are fine).
I have tested the FloppyDTV-c with myTheatre and there it works perfectly.
Integration with the PVR150 works fine.
I have to use VMR9 Custom (VMR9 only gives a back screen)
Now, and this is the weird part: After I have used the myTheatre on a channel of my subscription, the GBPVR is able to show that particular channel and some more afterwards, but not all.
So it seems to be that somehow GBPVR and the FloppyDTV goes out of synch.
I have tried with different versions of the BDA drivers, but the same problem is there.
I attach a log file just in case somebody can take a look, and maybe give me some hint in which direction to look further. There is a tuning error message at some place.
Thanks!
Stefan
