Hi, was wondering if anyone has had this situation?
I can't get the Wireless MediaMVP player to connect to my wireless network. I was on WPA, but downgraded (which was disappointing to have to do) to WEP-128. I reconfigured each of my home computers to the new 26 character key, and they all connected using the new key.
I've checked and rechecked and rechecked (plus even a few more times) to ensure that I accurately put the correct 26 character key in the mvp settings, and it accurately reflects what I put in all the others. It says it can connect but can't obtain an IP from my router's DHCP server. My Netgear router usually has no problem doling out an IP to a device that knows the correct key, so Iâm not sure what's going on.
I temporarily ran a long ethernet cable across the floor to test the wired portion, and that connected fine. So I'm stuck in not knowing what to do since I can't connect.
Any troubleshooting solutions that some of you might know would be helpful.
I get an error when starting GBPVRRecordingService. Have attached screenshots from Event Viewer and Dependancy Walker.
Would appreciate any help in fixing the issue.
Thanks,
-Topper
Edit: Nevermind - I installed the .Net patch from the sticky thread and it resolved the issue. Now need to figure out why I'm not getting video (only audio available while watching TV)
I have a Programme object and get a channel image using getChannelOID() as input. I want to display the channel #, and I see in gbpvr.db3 there are name and channel_number items. How can I get these values?
I'm working on my Tuner Status plugin, and know if a tuner is recording and the show name that is being recorded. I also want to get the channel # so I can display the channel icon and show description.
This gives me an array of scheduled recordings, and I can search for a matching name and try to guess the date and time it started vs DateTime.Now. There has to be an easier way to know that if something is recording, for it to return specific info on what is being recorded: channel #, show name, show description.
What's your secret to display the data in the tooltip?
I dont think I'm asking the impossible, but I dont know my way around the ffmpeg cmd line (and suspect that if I do learn it then something more valuable regarding the .NET framework will pop out of my head to make room!!), and would like to transcode my mpgs into a format that kept 99% of the quality and yet maybe halved the disk space.
The standard XVID setting is about the best of the DIVX, XVID WMV1200 settings that come as standard, but the quality loss is too great and size is reduced to 25% of original. So, there is plenty of room to have better quality.
in config.xml the cmd line for XVID is defined as: -y -i {SOURCE_FILE} -f avi -ab 224 -ac 2 -acodec mp3 -deinterlace -vcodec xvid -b 1250k -vtag XVID {DEST_FILE}
can anyone suggest improvements to the cmd line that might give me what I want.
Not sure if these are critical or not (doesn't "seem" to affect GBPVR...), but I get the following application event viewer errors for

I was having a browse through my event viewer the other day (application) and saw that winvnc caught a few events and I remembered that winvnc uses port 5900 (and the repeater is 5901) and that the MediaMVP uses a similar range too, according to an old post by tipstir...
Is there any chance these two have been fighting each other?

this is really a wish for a plugin, or more like a util..
i would love to have some way to access the currently playing filename, whatever it may be, written to either a filename or a registry key...
this to use for, among other things, lcd info...
i can lookup the info needed from just the filename, but i have no idea how events work, nor have any other way to get this info..
i already have current livetv title/subtitle/descriptions working, and what's-recording's info also, just nothing for what's playing right now..
no features needed, just echo the info out of gbpvr somehow...
[either as text to a file, or to a reg. key, as LCDSmartie can read the registry easily and it's efficient,no file accesses]
Pweese? anyone know how to use events?
[other uses could be building a 'played' list for future suggestions of content]
[note this wouldn't log livetv, just played files]
I think related to the MVP problem was discussing earlier. Got myself a Cyberlink MUX.
Say that a recorded file is infact a .mpg now good start. And playing with live preview on GBPVR client works.
MVP still having issues only with DVB content. Also found when making something a recording rather that live preview even gbpvr doesn't like the file....until it's stopped recording.
Logs attached so me trying to play something of sky 1 then tv2 (PVR500) then sky 1 again on MVP.
Then another set of logs doing pretty much the same thing on the gbpvr client. I can see it loading the mux but can also see another couple of errors in there.
Muxchecker shows the cyberlink mux, not sure what version is recommended..
