lost all recordings after upgrading hard drive
Posted by: RogerH - 2007-01-07, 07:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I just upgraded my 160gb drive to a 300gb. For some reason GBPVR says I have no recordings. Sad The only thing that changed was the drive letter. I changed the drive letter in the config program to match the new drive letter. That didn't give me the recordings back. I changed the drive letter for the drive to what the old drive had and the recordings are still gone. Mind you the actual files are intact! What do I need to do to fix the problem. GBPVR is installed on the c: drive and the tv shows on the second drive I just upgraded

  GB-PVR Crashes when scanning
Posted by: rede96 - 2007-01-07, 07:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

I am using a TT C1500 DVB-C card with bda drivers. I have generated a new dvb-c .ini file with the symbol rate and frequencies for my cable provider.

The problem is that when ever I try and scan for channels (thorugh the 'Map EPG...') it starts to find channels no problem but then just crashes. usually after it has found the first few transponders.

I have tried both old & new BDA drivers and I can scan channels using other software no problems.

I have attached the error message I get if I stop Doctor Watson from opening.

Can anyone help please?

System Info:
Windows XP
Intel P4 2.4Ghz
512MB Ram

  No Live TV
Posted by: Captjack - 2007-01-07, 06:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have the entire Channel database, but when I try to actually watch, I get the error, "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." I am using the Hauppauge PVR USB2. I'm using version 0.99.5

Poor Video Quality... except when FF/RW
Posted by: black03specv - 2007-01-07, 06:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

So I've updated to the latest version of GBPVR (0.99.5) and am seeing the same thing I was in the previous version. Basically some stutter and fuzzy viewing on both Live TV and Recordings.

I've reverted quartz.dll which did help some but not really enough to my liking. The CPU hovers around 20% when watching live TV. My machine consists of:

2.93GHz CPU
1GB RAM
Asus A9550 Video Card
250GB HDD

I recently tried the Omega display drivers instead of ATI but got no display post install.

I've tried Cyberlink, Intervideo, and Elecard video decoders to no avail. The fuzziness and stuttering are especially noticeable when watching sports when there is constant movement. However, if I pause in Time Shift Mode, and then FF back to live, when I'm FF'ing the picture looks outstanding... pretty much exactly how it should look when watching TV (except obviously too fast). Does this make sense? Is there something I'm missing?

  How to test 5.1 output
Posted by: McBainUK - 2007-01-07, 05:59 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I use GB-PVR on my gaming PC to watch DVDs in my room. I don't seem to be getting 5.1 output (just the same speach/music on all speakers). What are the things to check?

Also is there a '5.1 test' MPG file or something I could use to tell me if its working ok? Something like the sound test you get in games like HL2.

Help: how to install GBPVR on wMVP?
Posted by: Sach - 2007-01-07, 05:20 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

Hi all

Apologies for the stupid questions, but I need some help...

I've had the PVR-150 with GBPVR for a while (excellent programme!), and have recently bought the Hauppauge wireless MVP from Amazon in the UK. I've set it up ok using the standard crappy Hauppauge software which is working fine, but was wondering if there is a way to use the GBPVR software on this device? The standard Hauppauge software is playing back half screen avi/divx movies etc which is just rubbish...

Firstly, is this possible, and is there a step by step guide somewhere which explains what to do to get me up and running?

Please someone come to my rescue! :-)

Many thanks
Sachin

  Blocky Xvid/divx video on MVP
Posted by: fhmanas - 2007-01-07, 04:07 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

I just upgraded to 0.99.5 with a fresh install of WinXP, so I know it's clean. Everything is up and running, except when I try to watch an xvid/divx video it's extremely blocky and terrible to watch. I know it's not because of the video as I have successfully watched this video without problems in previous versions. Is there a setting I need to do to fix this on 0.99.5

Thanks.

Machine wont standby since i put 0.99.5 on
Posted by: the-warriners - 2007-01-07, 03:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

My pvr worked fine until i put 0.99.5 on and now it refuses to go into standby. Previously it worked with no problems.
Nothing else has changed on the pc and i have restarted the box so it running fresh.

Has anything changed in this build that would stop it going into standby. Windows setting still says standby after 5 mins.

Alternatively can anyone recommend any other software that i could use - preferably free.
