I just got a Twinhan 1027 DVB-S card. I installed it in my PC and only installed the Twinhan BDA driver from their web site. To configure in GBPVR I selected the BDA Recording Plugin. I am not sure which device to select. I see a Twinhan DVB-S, Twinhan DVB-S (PCI), Twinhan DVB_S (DVB_TV....)
I get an error that it is unable to start the BDA device because it failed to locate the BDA capture device. I tried a couple of the above selections with the same error. Should I install the supplied Twinhan software first or does this screw me up with BDA drivers?
fresh install of windows xp pro sp2 (fully updated), with the .NET 2.0, video and audio drivers installed, along with ffdshow. fresh install of gbpvr, which initially worked (sort of).
minus small problems, everything worked, however after fiddling for a while, i rebooted and ended up with a bunk install of gbpvr.
config.exe won't run (wants me to report the error to microsoft)
after uninstalling, and reinstalling the problem persists
tried reinstalling .NET 2.0 to no avail
since then, i have uninstalled and reinstalled at least 5 times with no change.
any ideas? i foolishly allowed it to install ie7, could that be it? after uninstalling ie7 the error still persists.
I like Music Player (not so much 2) because I have mp3 and wma files.
I have 2 requests I would love to see. When you are in a playlist, I would love to play it shuffled instead of straight through. If I put on 4 or 5 albums... I may want them mixed up. (Like if I put music from 4 artists into a playlist for dinner music, I don't want all of 1 artist to play, then the next artist.)
Second request... saving of playlists. However, I saw that m3u was playable... so I have to dig deeper to see if some of my already created playlists work.
i have a really annoying problem which i really need help with. I keep having these audio "hickups" that is the video plays on but i have short silences every few seconds. it happens both on recordings and videos (that is mpeg's and avi's) and it happens also in other players (VLC etc..) so i dont think it has to do with GBPVR. I have tried everything from installing new codecs, installing new Audio drivers, defrag, Turning off system Index etc..but with no success. Can anyone recommend any other options i can try? It only started hapening the last day or so thats whats really annoying me, i didnt change anything...
The defauilt divx conversion profile gives small files but awful pixelation, so I want to try some different options. Is there a guide on the cmd line params used in config.xml, or does anyone have a set of profilers they would like to share that would give better quality but perhaps only get about 1GB per hour instead of the 2.6GB per hour that standard hi quality takes.
The DIVX or XVID profiles take about 0.25 GB per hour, but this is too pixelated.
Does anyone have a profile they could share or advise me on using the config.xml settings.
I could use trial and error but life is too short!
I have 7967 open, but I still have trouble streaming the mpg files through GBPVR. I can browse across the network and play the files using Nero Showtime, or view them locally using GBPVR. However, when the client using GBPVR tries to view, I get this message (on the client):

I had a spare afternoon today so thought i might write some software.
I have a home network setup with two mvp's, a file server and a media center pc which acts as the mvp's server. Being the lazy person I am I hate having to walk downstairs to start the media center pc before being able to use the mvp's upstairs. As WOL for the MVP seems impossible at the moment I thought I'd try to write something to run on the file server which is powered on all the time.
My MVP sends a udp broadcast packet when it wakes up from standby - presumably trying to get hold of its server. I've created a little application that listens for this packet then sends a wake on lan or "magic packet" to the computer of your choice, in my case my media center pc downstairs. The app is written in VB.NET and requires the .Net Framework 2. The server mac address can be entered into the textboxes or stored in MVPWatch.exe.config file - its currently set to FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF
I'm having problems with playback (using 0.99.5, no plugins) and am trying to resolve it using a particular mpeg file that's giving the following wierd symptoms :-
I have an mpeg file recorded using bda (cyberlink mux Version 5.0.2022 reported by the Mux Checker).
This file is stored on pc number 1.
If I play it on pc 1, it freezes in the same place every time. This is the same regardless of which player I use (gbpvr, Winamp or Media Player 10)
If I play it over the (wired) network on pc number 2 using Media player, it plays ok ! No freezing, no sync problems.
If I play it via my MVP (version H3) it plays, but the syncing is out. (please read on, I donât think this is an mvp problem !)
Both of the pcs use the same version of the cyberlink mux ( reported as version 6.0.0.1006 by the MS Video Decoder Utility) and the same version of the Quartz.dll (reported as 6.05.2600.2749 by dxdiag)
It appears that the problem is underneath gbpvr, somewhere else in my setup, but Iâve run out of places to look. Can anyone give me any new pointers of areas to investigate ?
Is addepisode suppose to update the database? I ran it, it changed the filenames just fine, but now inside GB PVR it can't find the file. The entry is still there, but I don't get the option to "Play" the file - hence the filename is wrong.
Here is the run:
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr>addepisode "C:\Media\Video\Just Recorded\Whats New Scooby-Doo\Whats New Scooby-Doo_20061219_17301800.mp
g" "{show}{[ - ]}{episode}"
