I had an old install of NextPVR, which, for various reasons, I had to uninstall before installing the latest version. Under my previous version, I had dozens of recordings of several different TV shows, none of which show up as recordings in the new install. I tried uploading the .ts files using the "import recordings" button on the web interface, but nothing happened. I also tried doing an export of the current recordings, and editing the .xml files to match one of the old recordings (as a test), and it failed to upload anything (I assume I didn't edit things correctly).
Across the forum and the wiki, I have found a few references to using VidImport to bulk add files to the recordings, but I can't figure out how to get it to work. Trying the various commands on the wiki just produces a bunch of errors/exceptions and does nothing. I assume I'm getting the syntax wrong but there are not examples on the wiki for me to be sure.
Any advice on how to add my old recordings back to NextPVR would be greatly appreciated.
I've been a user or GBPVR/nextpvr since 2006 - my policy is don't touch it unless absolutely necessary but the last of my string of mvp's and NMT's has died and I am now forced to take action ugently (SWAMBO is on the warpath).
I live in the UK and have simple needs - I need to replace my client hardware for 2 or 3 TV's and it looks like the NMT/PCH is not the way forward.
I would like a client that:
a) is cheep - or at least is good value (I have no money at the moment - the more expensive it is the fewer clients I can install).
b) can be connect to the ethernet rather than wifi (we have thick walls and wifi just add's another layer of faults)
c) can play IPlayer and act as a nextpvr client.
d) I don't need to play 4k content (like I say - I have simple needs).
A quick experiment has shown me that KODI now works well on my phone and PC - and if push comes to shove, as a UK Licence fee payer, I have no problem using the IPlayerWWW addon to consume BBC content within Kodi. I have no interest in accessing any other streaming services at the moment - legal or otherwise. Another bonus with Kodi is I get to the the Knewc addon - is it me or is the Kodi interface counter-intuitive?
So a Rpi 3 with Kodi is one option as is a Firestick 4K with a Ethernet adaptor.
There seems to be a whole slew of Android TV Boxes out there but none without reliability problems.
I have an aversion to being locked in to any hardware/software platform but the Firestick 4K is attractive - if only in that that it is officially supported by the BBC and others.
I sweat my hardware and software accets - one they work I leave them alone and revisit them every 2 or 3 years if I have to - don't even ask what the OS the PVR server is running on .
Each day when I use OSMC on a raspberry pi 3+connected via LAN to my NextPVR server there is an annoying display in the upper right hand corner that is information about NextPVR recording schedule. Specifically, a white circle with a black “i” and scrolling messages about each recording deleted or scheduled. It stays in place for over 30 minutes and probably over an hour before it is finally done updating and disappears. Is there some setting I can change to prevent this display?
When I use Kodi with on my PC with Linux Mint using the same NextPVR server I don’t receive these annoying notifications.
I asked the same question on the OSMC forum with no useful info.
A day ago I recorded a movie and decided to watch it today. When I started the movie I saw a black screen that said "Test Signal On". Very strange. When I watched that channel live with Kodi I saw the same thing "Test Signal On". So, I guess that channel is morphing into different programming or something.
However, when I tuned to this channel in the web app the message at the bottom said "Receiving Data" and the counter continued to increment and never stopped. I don't know if it would time out eventually or not. It was still incrementing the counter after several minutes. I also tried playing the recorded movie in the web browser but it eventually timed out and gave an error. The logs should show the channel playing in Kodi first (I think) and then in the web browser.
P.S. I do not like this drag and drop method for attaching log files... just saying
Right now NextPVR is recording the same movie FOUR times on the same tuner. I have no idea why this is happening. I have only been using the web app and earlier I was looking at the guide and I thought I had set movies to record but they did not show as scheduled to record so I added them the the queue.....I could have sworn I had already added them. So now it seems I am getting four for one.
Anyone have any idea what I did wrong and how to correct this?
I was so pleased with nextpvr/colossus 2 that I added a second colossus 2 card to my rig. Unfortunately, while my usbuirt blasts to the correct device, the video shown is always from my original card. Is there any way to make it so that it shows the correct stream for the tuner I choose. I have attached my logs. Thanks.
We had a new channel start broadcasting in Australia and at least one other renumbered last weekend, When I scan for channels, i the HDHomerun is downloading the channel map from
'http://ipv4-api.hdhomerun.com/api/lineup?DeviceAuth=Oops,Now edited' which is outdated
I am running NextPVR v5.0.8 (200823) on Windows 10 Professional x64. I have an "all series" recording scheduled that I'm trying to edit and is throwing an error upon saving. I believe it may be due to special characters in the title?
Steps to recreate:
In the web interface, I clicked on the Scheduler tab, changed the dropdown to recurring, click on the show to edit, change the directory to something different, click Save. It says "Scheduling Error" and "Unable to schedule recording at this time"

I tried removing the ampersand and colons from both the name and filter to see what would happen and got the same error. I am not having this issue with any of my other ~15 scheduled recordings. I tried deleting and recreating a few times, no luck...
sub: I've been working Martin on some slowness/timeout things with knewc recently. And I just captured a possibly good example with a theory of "why".
I watched a recording, stopped it, hit the Record button to delete it, confirmed, and then knewc timed out (the alpha test version I'm using times out after 10 seconds with no response from the server).

But then the NextPVR GUI server seems to call RELOAD_RECORDINGS 20! times
before finally rendering a screen to send back to knewc
Code:
2020-09-28 12:24:54.067 [DEBUG][11] DoCompositeRendering() took 93.5994ms
Unfortunately, by that time, 11 seconds have elapsed and now knewc has timed-out!
What I realized looking at this example, was that the recording I had just deleted was the only one in that folder. So when NextPVR was going to go back to the recording list after the delete completed, the folder it would have normally gone back to was no longer there. I'm guessing that this is (part) of what trigger calling RELOAD_RECORDINGS so many times.
I'm hoping that you can take a look at the code and see what is happening!
