Been stuffing arround for ages trying to get my channel's to detect properly using a 'DVICO FusionHDTV, DVB-T Plus'.
I figured it all out and want to help those other people out there having the same issues. I found I was only able to detect SBS and now and then I would get 'Sothern Cross 10', I uninstalled fusion dhtv drivers and GB-PVR over and over again constantly trying different versions and finally got to stuffing round with the chanel info.
I found creating my own chanel list in the folder C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA\Dvb-t\ made it work first time and everytime I tryed
I named it 0151.ini (feel free to name it whatever you'd like)
and entered in the below,

1=Australia
2=Gold Coast
I am looking for a plug-in or what have you that would allow to have a set of buttons on a sub menu screen that sends commands out a serial port. I'll use this to communicate with my home automation system which can then run a macro.
OR
A screen of buttons to send commands to an X-10 CM11a interface.
I am not using Homeseer so the plugin for it may not work but it might be a good place to start for simple X-10 control.
I have heard of Girder which might work as a shim but it seems excessive to have a separate program to init a com port and poke a byte out.
I would also want to be able to display this on any connected TV or client.
At the moment I've got all my home data (images, music, recordings etc) in my PVR in our living room - the PVR that automatically boots up GBPVR. I imagine most of us here have a similar set up.
Ideally I'd like to move all of this data to a NAS running a Linux distro like FreeNAS (http://www.freenas.org/). It would be secure, backed up, properly cooled and ideally in a different room (e.g. Study).
I'd like to keep GBPVR by the TV, possibly even running it diskless from a Compact-Flash IDE disk - not as as a GBPVR client - rather it would be my main GBPVR installation but the data it uses and recordings would be stored on the NAS.
If I then wanted to add GBPVR clients in other rooms, they would use the diskless living room GBPVR box as the server, though the data itself is in the NAS box.
Is this a viable model to aim for? The advantage would be a quiet, cool low-power tiny box by the television and all my precious data in a utility room, with humming fans, RAID, back-up, larger box and whatever.
Does anyone have anything similar, or have an alternative solution which offers advantages over this?
When I started out I wanted a single server that could do everything (PVR, FTP, file server etc) but with time I'd rather have small, discrete low-power mini-itx systems dotted around that are single-purpose rather than all-singing all-dancing systems.
on the recording choices popup (record once or season, record quality, padding...) with the default record quality as 'medium' it would seem more intuative (to me at least) if hitting left selected low quality and hitting right selected high, not vice versa as it is at the moment.
Disclaimer:
This worked for me but you can take your chances at your own risk.
You should not edit the GB-PVR database yourself. Isn't that right sub
If you must you should back it up first. I find it easiest to make a copy the entire gbpvr program directory.
I have not yet updated to the SQLite database and am still using the Access one (gbpvr.mdb). There are admin tools for SQLite (as suggested in this post http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=19464) but I haven't tried it. You can open the Access database in Microsoft Access (2000 or greater I believe).
Here's how I was able to get my Compro VideoMate T200a DVB-T card working in GB-PVR when automatic tuning does not work.
This was/is a last resort and you should search the forum for other tips before doing this.
In the case of Compro VideoMate Txxx cards:
* Make sure that you are using driver version 1.3.1.24. Later drivers have problems and may not work. (As of October 2006.)
1) Add the Compro card in GBPVR configuration as a recording device. Set up the EPG and update it, etc. Do everything but map the channels. Save and close it.
2) Close GBPVR and stop the GBPVRRecordingService.
3) Install the ComproTV software and tune all the channels there.
4) Open the ComproTV "Options" screen. Right-Click the channel you want to add to GBPVR and select Edit.
5) Open the database. Go to the "CHANNEL" table and note the "oid" of the channel.
6) Open the "SOURCE_CHANNEL_MAPPING" table and find that "oid" in the "channel_oid" field.
7) In the same rowset enter the following into the "tuning_request" field:
Replace <xx> with a unique number value for each channel, ie. C01, C02, etc.
Replace the rest with the values from the Compro channel settings.
...and that's about it.
Just repeat steps 4 - 7 for each channel you want and then close the database and ComproTV before restarting the GBPVRRecoringService.
Does anybody know if it is possible to change resolution depending on the content you want to play, or if it is possible to write a plugin that handles this?
for example, i want to change resolution depending on whether i'm playing 23.976 fps, 25 fps, 29.97 fps 30 fps or other.
FWIW was not able to get this to work with Fusion versions 3.41 and 3.50Beta2 either.
What does this mean?
00:29:51.671 VERBOSE Successfully auto detected tuner filter: FusionHDTV, Transport Stream Capture
00:29:51.671 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'MPEG2 Transport' to 'MPEG-2 Stream'
00:29:51.671 VERBOSE ConnectPins failed: hr = 80040217
Had GBPVR working on initial install ages ago with 3.30 and 970x, but after machine rebuild and newer GBPVR/Fusion drivers it has never worked. Have tried different VMR/Overlay settings with no luck.
In all cases, the FusionHDTV application works fine. In the SF Bay Area with roof antenna and amplifier, so signal is fairly good.
hi all, i have been using gbpvr for a month now and love it! a big thankyou to the developers!
im hoping someone could help me with 2 issues;
if I schedule a recording to start in an 30mins or so, its records fine, if i schedule it to start in about 4 hours, the video is corrupt, any channel, and the audio is perfect.
the other issue is one channel (tv3 in new zealand) has choppy audio when watching it live or recording it, the signal isnt 100% but was hoping there may be a way for me to fine tune the audio? all the other channels are great! i have tried tuning it using cable and attena, and it is on the best signal i can get.
thanks in adavaced for any help someone can provide
Hi how's it going? I have a Plextor TV402U. Ran great for so long, even MP3 recodring. Recently when i reinstallled GBPVR after a reformat, i seemed to be having problems. I noticed that my recordings are coming out very light in comparison to what they used to be.Also, the recording service stays on recording a program after the program is long over. Any ideas? I am mainly concerned about the really light picture. Here is an example. Thanks
So I'm experiencing a very interesting problem. I'm trying to tweak my decoder settings to get the smoothest playback I can. I am therefore trying to use lastgraph to look at the decoder string.
However, when I watch a show that was recorded in HD (ATSC, using DVR-MS mux), I am unable to look at the graph file, as I get an error message saying "The file format is invalid" However, when I watch a SDTV show, and then go to the graph file, it opens fine.
So, something about the HD recording is messing with the graph file, which makes me think there is a bigger issue out there.
I've attached the log files and graph file for the HD case, which causes the bad file format error.
