my setup is working GREAT!!!
I dont know how I ever lived without it.
only thing that concerns me is the sound on 2 of the channels.
channels 4 and 9
on channel 9, one tuner is fine 90% of the time, the other 10% the audio is choppy.
the other tuner is always choppy (turned off in config).
channel 4, audio is always choppy on both tuners.
anything I can do about this??
I thought it might be reception, but the picture is perfect, and it is only/always these 2 channels.
9 has been like this since the begining, but I didnt notice 4 being like this until I upgraded GBPVR to the latest version.
however, I really dont watch 4 much, so I might have not recorded on it at all until after I upgraded.
ps-
if it matters, 4 was UPN, but is now "my network"
9 is fox
I'm trying to get some different & latest version of the Cyberlink MUX but not having much luck. I've got some files however after registering they don't turn up in the "BDA Mux Checker" tool?
Re Getting the Latest Version - Any advice???
PowerDVD - I've already got powerdvd installed and went searching for the file. There wasn't a THMpgMux.ax however there was a ppMpgMux.ax. After I register it it still isn't picked up by the mux checker. I've attached the file.
From Twinhan site - The download page has changed a bit, but I downloaded the drivers for 3056 and found a MCEMpgMux.ax in the zip. After I register it it still isn't picked up by the mux checker. I've attached the file.
Re Selecting the MUX from GB-PVR config - Comments??
When I go to the last tab in the config application there is just "Cyberlink" in the pull down menu. How does this relate to which registered MUX (from the mux checker) will be used. If I did manage to install 2 different Cyberlink mux's would there be two entries in the pull down list
If the cyberlink mux names have changed with the latest version of powerdvd could GB-PVR not be picking these up due to some hard-coded rules?
Having a new computer setup, im intrested in using my surround sound.
After lots of tinkering around i have yet to find a way to get GBPVR to play net radio or radio, or tv in surround sound.
Is this true of everyone? If not did you have todo anything to get it working?
Thanks. kind of annoying using only front left and right and sub
Re http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...tcount=163 - I've done a clean install with the PC and replaced all my leads for full scart ( all OFC & Gold Plated cables ) and even replaced my TV switch... there defo is a volume problem some wheren - for me its too quiet.
The sound files are fine ( tested on a few other devices ) and it does not seem to be affected by the dongle in use....
field too small to accept the amount of data you are trying to add. Try inserting o pasting less data
and yes i had read other people pots with similar problems,
when to zap2it (labs) and uncheck all the PPV
can anyone here help me, been trying this for 2 days now
tryed all the pvr software out there, and i had decided i like this one over the rest
including the ones you have to pay for
but i'm stuck in this litty problem,
thanks:confused:
I am new to HTPC/PVR. Planning to assemble a HTPC with GBPVR and would like to have the GBPVR computer located in a Media room (100 feet away from the TV) and control it via a RF remote. I have basicall 2 different questions-
1. Why would I need a client/mediaMVP if I use a RF remote(presuming that it works for 100 feets) and a SVIDEO extender like http://www.svideo.com/svaudiobalun17.html. I am only trying to understand the technicality. From economic perspective, it is not worth it. But there are other similar products that lets you extend to 5-6 diffrent locations or to send component/DVI video. So if you have 4-5 TV, then this may be a solution.
2. What functionality/benefit I will be loose or will be invconvenient with such set-up when you don't have any mediaMPV/client device near your TV our Couch.
For example, using IR Remote not possible easily. Buring something onto DVD/CD becomes pain as you don't have a PC next to TV. You would need a seperate PC with DVD burner etc. I am trying to understand the limitation of this setup based on all the available plug-in/utilities and features of GBPVR available.
I'm either missing a feature in gbpvr or I need to configure something differently. If I'm watching LiveTV and I hit record to manually record something. I'm using MCE remote with gbpvr configured for it. Next, I want to manually stop the recording from the same window, I can't. Hitting "stop" on the remote takes me back to the main menu. The only way I can stop it is to go into recordings and stop it there. It seems like I should be able to stop it from the LiveTV screen. Any body have any idea?
I have a hauppauge win/tv 878/9 and config doesn't seem to see the card. It works with wintv and shows in device manager. Is this card supported? or any ideas of what I am doing wrong?
For no apparent reason, I am suddenly getting an error from ShowSearch. When I access ShowSearch from the main GBPVR menu an error regarding "Arial Narrow" font and the inability to be displayed in "bold" appears. Clearing the error brings me back to the main menu.
I haven't done anything to my GBPVR setup. The error just started coming up for no apparent reason.
